Ive got broad shoulders, i can take the mocking. Just my opinion. IF, its a Somerset Newcastle PL final, providing none of the Somerset boys picks up and injury, i say you, Somerset will beat them over the two legs. -

But tell me if im wrong. Didn't Somerset need to get all 3 points on friday? And If they was in the position to give Worky a Tonking wouldn't it have helped their cause points difference wise as to where they finish in the table, as the others have meetings in hand, and it well may go down to points difference as to where they finish? No? And yes i can also go back to the days of Martin Ashby Barry Briggs, but you still sound older than me!! -

Great result for the Rebels last night. Very impressed with Alex Davies performance showed plenty of agression off the start and plenty of speed. Starting to show the sort of form that persuaded the somerset promotion to buy his contract from Newport. Good performance from Kyle Newman also, showed a lot more agression off the start into turn one, but still has the odd rush of blood to the head, sometimes needs to realise there's four laps to a race. Both lads are coming on well, but although both lads would be capable of steping up to the EL i feel both would benifit from another year at Somerset in the PL. Very suprised the way Worky just rolled over, but 3 good points for the Rebels and a little help on the points difference front. Thery now have to wait and see where it takes them. -

Jeez PR, i wondered when you was going to start this thread. Rebels need all 3 points tomorrow night first and formost. But if they find themselves in a position to give Worky a Tonking they must grab it with both hands, it will certainly help the points differnce. -

So, its taken Ez all season to get the track back to how he wants it. No suprise really. There's an old saying, if you have good staff you keep them, your only as good as your staff. And without the likes of Ez, speedway would not run -

Thats exactly the bottom line PR. You need all three points this week, and next week, simple as that, then wait and see where it takes you.. -

Somerset will need to be right on their toes tomorrow night. do not take this meeting as a god given home win. You do need the points to keep Newcastle and to a lesser extent Worky on their toes, but all the team will have to do their bit. DON'T get complacent, do the job, professionally -
Scunthorpe V Somerset (pl) - Monday, August 27th (3pm)
Starman2006 replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
True, Scunthorpe also proved they were no mugs a few weeks ago at the OTA and yes as i said, this meeting was going to be very hard,But you must keep the presure on Newcastle, finishing top or second is a big advantage, eventhough Newcastle have meetings in hand. and yes, so do Worky, but i'd personally rather points than meetings in hand, you still have to win them. -

Didn't see any of the Nationals given a good write up before the GP. And the Racing post sports section that aiways do a small piece for the GP's gave the British GP EXACTLY 2.3 inches, And even then, they struggled to put Chris Holders name at the bottom as their tip. Really does put British speedway into context.
