World Championship Pairs
Wolfsbane replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If it wasn't for Woffinden we wouldn't have been within a Rossiter team talk of the final, stop bellyaching for Christ's sake. And by the way, I detest the guy. -
Used to drive me insane. Recorded it to watch when I got home, froze me nuts off standing on the terraces keeping out of the bar and then walking out they announce 'Wolves lost 2-0'
-
Adams complained about crowd levels. So what do they do? Run the Belle Vue cup 2nd leg on the same night as England v Tunisia hoping that 'it'll be on the TV in the bars' will do. They are forcing fans of Wolves & BV to make a choice. It'll end badly, always has, always will. Just for fairness sake King's Lynn are running also.

Wolverhampton v Poole Prem B. 28/5/18
Wolfsbane replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Obvs never been to a Wolves v Cradley meet Starry. The alleged incident last night, as abhorrent as it is said to have been, sounds like small beer to what I've witnessed at Dudley Wood & Monmore. Doesn't make it right of course but perspective is needed. -
Adams was talking on the radio about how Heeps would do at reserve.

Unless I misheard Adams seemed to be saying that the ref had got something wrong in Ht 15 Heeps going nowhere -

Greaves replaces Heeps. All over for Cam @ Wolves methinks. -
More points chucked away, easy to see why. Never mind, it's encouraging.

Leicester Lions v Wolverhampton Wolves, 19.30, 21/05/18
Wolfsbane replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When you have opportunities to take all the points, last night and at Rye, they need to be grabbed as a buffer to when something unlucky happens at home, Howarth injured v Poole last year. 2 points are ok, 6+ really should have been in the bag. Others won't make the same mistakes. -

How's that 'encouraged' thing going Adams? -
I do hope I'm wrong but this smacks to me of the sort of acceptance of failure that blighted the fallow years. '3 points from 3 away meetings'. I think that is known at election time as expectation management, in this case, very low expectations. I wonder what message it sends to the riders? https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/speedway/2018/05/19/track-talk-travel-woes-dont-worry-adams---yet/

Adams & CVS know that they are coming to the twilight of their custodianship of Wolves. The only thing they're thinking is will they get a return on any investments they might make. Not necessarily the wrong decision from their point of view but may not be ideal for the supporters.
-
I guess we'll see how serious Da Management are after tonight. Make a positive change, like last season, or let it drift and blame the fans for not turning up.

Should Elliot/Updates be unsuccessful in the search for a texter it's on Radio WM (And Swindon meet thursday!). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/speedway/17839601

I don't know what your history is with DC, if any, that's prompted that comment but totally uncalled for in any circumstances

On first showing in SGP, Cook is the new Harris. Looking on the bright side, he'll win a GP, eventually

And then we arrive back at the Ipswich/Sheffield thing!! The BSPA seem to be able to make a Sow's Ear out of a Silk Purse

Just love the Wolves OS's headline................................... 'Cup hopes in the balance' more like 'cup hopes down the gurgler'. -

After a lot of fun this last couple of seasons it looks like normal service has been resumed. Win at home and keep the punters happy, maybe pop 1 or 2 away wins in to squeak into the play offs and get our backsides handed to us in the away leg. The honest truth is CVS and Adams are going to retire sooner rather than later. Until that happens and we, hopefully, get new management, this is how it will be. It isn't that have given up necessarily, just that spending money when you aren't going to be around to see the benefit isn't a runner. I tried to ignore the worries about Thorssell away from home but it certainly looks like the doomsayers were correct -
I seem to recall just after I joined the BSF a particular Poole fan posting this when another club made an early change.
