So 5 months later and still no results of the "full investigation"!? Apathy rules!

    Posf2 Poole V Coventry

First of all I hope Dakota's father has a full recovery but I find it strange that his fathers condition is so serious that Dakota cannot concentrate on racing but not serious enough to fly home. Yet again Poole are called cheats. An annual occurrence. Such a shame really. We nearly got to the end of the season without too much controversy and now rules have been stretched to breaking point again by the usual protagonists.

Well 'Gater1' you've got your wish....... "MF and Co can we please get a sick note for Dak North next week....Pay Dak for a certain amount of points and get a guest in :D" (From the Cov v Poole thread) Sadly it was so predictable.....why do other teams bother trying?

    Coventry 2015

The total fines of £4125 equate to only 230 full paying adults. Gates must fluctuate by more than that at every home meeting depending on the weather and visitors, so surely they can take this in their stride? Why involve the fans? For whatever reason they allowed themselves to get forced in to a difficult situation and then handled it badly. By all means pursue the ACU route but to go cap in hand to the fans is too much. Otherwise we shall all be expecting a bonus if/when we get a bumper gate in the final.

    Cardiff Gp

If I can address this to Philip Rising. I think fans deserve results of the investigation (assuming there has been one) especially those of us sat in that freezing cold stadium wondering what the hell was going on. This debacle was the final straw as far as our family is concerned. Having previously endured no shows at Gothenburg, Gelsenkirchen and Riga, (all down to incompetence) and experienced BSI's insipid response to fans, this was our last SGP. No more SGP's. Not even Cardiff. The shambles of Warsaw should not be allowed to be swept under the carpet. This is my recent post on the Warsaw GP thread; This quote is from the SGP website on 22nd April 2015 (thought I'd better add the year as this is going to be a long job!) "BSI Speedway would like to further update fans following the unfortunate events of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) in Warsaw. A full investigation is underway and BSI Speedway is working with the FIM, the PZM and Speed Sport to understand all the issues that led to the curtailment of the Grand Prix. This investigation will focus on the track and the starting gate and we will update fans in due course." As a disgruntled fan I am STILL waiting for an update, "in due course!".

Apologies if I have missed it but have there been any results of the inquiry/investigation in to the shambles we witnessed in Warsaw? Or am I too naive to expect such a thing.

    Tampere Gp

Regarding the empty stadium, what did BSI expect. The racing last year was awful, I doubt many who were there would have bothered again. We sat there last year as the stadium emptied as the meeting went on. By the last few races two thirds of the crowd had left. Surely alarm bells must have been ringing somewhere? There needed to be drastic and well documented track improvements and perhaps a reduction in prices to tempt people back. However, a year on, the track was even worse and ticket prices started at €55. Anybody up for another Tampere SGP next year?
  12. Thanks for the info'. Our first foreign adventure in about 2000 was a similar SWC fixture at Landshut. It was Germany, USA (with John Cook!) and Denmark and ? Looking forward to a return visit next week after we go to St.Johann tomorrow for the SGP qualifier. Hope the weather gods are good to us.

    2015 Speedway Gp Challange

Sorry guys. I still can't find a line up for the GP qualifiers, particularly the one in St. Johann on 2nd May. I've followed the link from "Racers and Royals" but this still only shows 4 riders even though we are only just over a week away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If anybody fancies trying their luck and asking questions of one of the key figures on Saturday, Tony Steele will be the guest of the NSSC next Tuesday 28th April at 8pm. Everybody welcome. £3 for non-members. All proceeds go to help the British Young Lions (Under 16's). Please note our new venue, just off M6 Junction 2; http://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/directions/

"And the organisers will make sure that nothing like this happens again" How can they? They haven't mastered these pop-up tracks yet. It looked a while ago that they may have done but then there were serious problems at Parken and Cardiff a couple of years ago and they just got away with it. This latest debacle adds to a sorry list. Unfortunately for me I have experienced them all first hand and enough is enough. I said this last year after being stranded in Riga, but was gullible enough to believe that they wouldn't dare cock this up in front of 50,000 fans and so gave them another chance. However that's it now, I will not be going to any more SGP's, including Cardiff.

    Best Pairs Cup

Germany are going to be spread a bit thinly aren't they? I think they host the SWC qualifier at Landshut on the same day, May 9th. ? Pressumably Russia effected as well?

    Tampere Gp

That's shocking. The track was rightly condemned by riders and fans alike last year and promises were made to make changes. We sat and watched as seats emptied as the meeting went on. I reckon half the crowd left before the end. They will not return without major changes to the track. The stadium and location was great, as was the city, country and people. Rather than the highlight of the weekend the SGP was a massive disappointment. Not as much as Riga but that is a whole different story!

    2015 Speedway Gp Challange

Now we are less than a month away, when do we expect to see the line ups announced for the SGP qualifiers? Surely the riders will know by now? We are going to St. Johann so interested to know.
  20. Talk is cheap. Action appears to be a bit harder. On January 20th Coventry speedway released this statement regarding the fixture clash with #RICO's meeting at Lakeside; "The second leg at Brandon takes place on the Bees’ regular Friday race-night, at the same time as the Lee Richardson 'Remembering #Rico' meeting at Lakeside. Coventry Speedway wish to place on record the fact that everyone at the club has the utmost respect for Lee’s achievements in the sport, and for his family, and we are sure the Purfleet event will be the success it deserves to be. The scheduling of our opening fixture against Leicester is in no way intended as a show of disrespect to the memory of Lee, who represented the Bees between 2000 and 2003 and won the Elite League Riders’ Championship whilst in our colours. In purely practical terms, dates are very limited this season with availability of top riders, and with our first Elite League match taking place on March 27, when we face Wolverhampton, we needed to arrange our season-opener for the previous Friday in order to provide a home meeting before the league competition begins. This is our first available Friday to stage a fixture, as the season does not start until March 15 and this can only be brought forward when Easter falls in March. However, we intend to stage a collection on the night at Brandon with all proceeds going to Lee Richardson’s family, and this will enable hopefully a large number of Coventry and Leicester supporters to contribute." Well, was there a collection for Lee Richardson's family? I certainly didn't see one.

    Coventry 2015

I'm pleased with this signing. I know we all support the Brits but he'll add some spice. It will be really interesting to watch his progress and I remember his appearance at the 2013 Brandonapolis very well. Unpredictable and exciting/scary sum it up. I remember his heat win because he seemed to be going too fast for the conditions and I expected him to bury himself in the fence at any moment but he beat three good riders in the fastest time of the night. I hope he can spend more time on the bike than off it and can cope with the smaller tracks. Whatever happens he certainly won't be boring!

    Darcy Ward

What is the significance of this? Didn't he race in the Swedish and Elite league in that time. Presumably he shouldn't have done. So what happened there? "Moreover, the CDI ruled that the results obtained by Mr Ward in all the Competitions in which he participated subsequent to the positive test, from 17 August 2014 until 27 August 2014, are cancelled, with all resulting consequences, including forfeiture of any points and prizes."

Looks like there is no need to wait for the outcome of the hearing......according to the letters page in the Speedway Star, Darcy Ward has already been, "hung, drawn and quartered"!

    Fancy A Quiz?

It's nearly time for the annual NSSC Christmas Quiz! Next Tuesday, 9th December for a prompt 8pm start. There will also be a bumper raffle and nibbles on the tables. Teams of four at £3 per person. Don't worry if you haven't got a team just come along and enjoy the night. As usual the target is to beat the team of referees! http://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/ To get you in the mood here are some speedway questions from a past quiz. Notable years in speedway; In which year did the Grand Prix series replace the one off World final? When was the last Wembley World final? When were play-offs introduced to the Elite League? When was the first Cardiff GP? When did England/GB last win the World Team Cup? When were Bradford the first Elite League champions? There's plenty more if you'd like some.

    Fancy A Quiz?

Got to cater for everybody. If all very hard speedway questions you'd only get a handful of teams turning up. Are these a bit tougher? Who were the World Speedway champions in the years of these events; The year that Tony Blair was first elected as Prime Minister The year that England won the FIFA World Cup The year of the Queens Silver Jubilee The year that Coventry City won the FA Cup The year that Barack Obama became the President of America for the first time The year that President Kennedy was assassinated The year that Band Aid's 'Do they know its Christmas' was no.1 for the first time The event known only as 9/11 The year of the Sydney Olympics The year of the death of George VI
