    Bbc Local Radio Coverage

Radio Suffolk give excellent coverage to the Mildenhall Fen Tigers and also the Ipswich Witches Stephen Foster has a regular spot on his show which features updates and interviews and results also feature on the morning shows on the station. Stephen has a great love and understanding of the sport and acts as presenter on occasions at both tracks. It is a two way thing though, the clubs must make the effort to keep the stations informed and then we can work together to promote interest in our clubs

Mud In The Eye For The Mdl?

Just out of interest 1. Who are the riders you refer to as 'from nowhere with very little experience' 2. What riders from last years MDL do you feel have missed out because of the uplift in points Not having a go. Just interested in who you feel is suffering from the changes

    Cradley 2016

This Cradley side has the feel of the Birmingham 2015 side to me - Two big hitters in Morris and Clegg (for Perry & Ellis) and looking for a Wajtknecht (Andrews?) with the rest looking to score their required points needed to get over the line and pick up the wins. I don't see any great improver's in the other four riders but they dont necessarily need to be Birmingham won the league with their highest point score in a meeting being 54 and won 8 meetings with scores in the 40's! It will be interesting to see if this Cradley team can emulate them!

Isle Of Wight Wightlink Warriors 2016

Can remember some great trips to the Island between 2006 and 2012, always a good place to watch the sport I have seen some incredibly poor crowds early season, but when they used to ride the bulk of their meetings during the holiday season (sometimes twice a week) they had some very decent turnouts Hopefully your return will be a massive success ... good luck

So if it's four how many points does that leave for the last two riders

No you said it was 'notoriously rubbish'!!! the page is updated as soon as possible when the lady volunteer who kindly runs it is able! It may surprise you as someone who spends their 'life' on here, but she has a job, family and a life to fit in as well!!. We also have very active facebook and twitter pages to inform our support! Criticism is fine ... but try and get your facts right occasionally!

    Cradley 2016

If memory serves he last rode in 2006 for Mildenhall?. And his average then was only 4 - 4.5, so I wouldn't be surprised if after 10 years away he doesn't come in on a 3. Seems fair enough to me

    Kent 2016

I don't think I am speaking out of turn here, but Jack did say at our end of season party that he was strongly considering sitting out 2016 to concentrate on finishing his apprenticeship and build up some funds to come back and give speedway a real go in 2017. There remains real untaped potential in Jack, at times he was incredibly quick, a really nice guy too and hopefully he will return to the sport when he is ready

Would you like to clarify how the Mildenhall website is notoriously rubbish please? Like many things to do with NL speedway it is run by volunteers who put in a great deal of time helping outside of their full time jobs families and other commitments! Perhaps you may like to think before posting in future?

    King's Lynn 2016

As a sort of neutral who attends KL irregularly I'm fascinated by the Pedersen and race night change rumours Although the handful that discuss KL matters on here seem in the main fine with a race night change in order to facilitate the return of Pedersen surely before such a bold move the promotion would have some interaction with the supporters to ensure that a change of race night wouldn't effect the crowd substantially as unless there is a sponsor on board to pay, they will need everyone they can get through the gate with Pedersen's likely pay demands. Personally with the EL possibly at its weakest (Top rider wise) I would think young riders on the up would be more likely on Busters radar? Maybe a young Pole or two, Anders Thomsen maybe or the like, its looks a good time to try and tie up some young talent as unless the unlikely change to one race night for all in the EL occurs I can't see GP riders of real quality returning in the foreseeable future
  21. Press Release from Mildenhall Speedway Halsey returns to complete ‘KJM’ Fen Tigers top four for 2016 Mildenhall ‘KJM’ Fen Tigers have completed their top four with the return for a sixth season of fans favourite and 2015 number one Danny Halsey. Although experiencing a season where he wasn’t quite at his brilliant best, Halsey retained the number one race jacket all season and promoter Kevin Jolly has no doubts that there is still plenty more to come from the 2014 National League Riders Champion. Halsey was a member a of the all conquering 2012 Grand Slam side and also has won the KO Cup in 2011 and the National Trophy in 2014 with the Fen Tigers and is a master of the West Row circuit. Kevin Jolly was pleased to complete his top four – “Whilst one or two people may be surprised to see Dan back, I have no doubt that he remains one of the National League’s top riders and he is a most capable number one. Few ride our circuit better than Dan and he will I feel add to his average this season with the strong support that Jon (Armstrong) & the Connors (Mountain & Coles) will provide. They are a powerful unit and I will be looking for us to be unbeaten at home this coming season. Dan is a quiet guy and maybe that gives the impression he is quite laid back, but that is not a true representation of him. He was deeply disappointed with his 2015 season and is keen to return and put things right this time around and we are backing him to do exactly that.” Halsey was equally pleased to return to West Row for a sixth season – he said – “After initially thinking I had ridden my last race for Mildenhall, I am pleased to be back for another season. Things did not go the way I wanted them to last year and I found myself not enjoying my speedway. Following a couple of lengthy conversations with Kevin and the recall of Jon Armstrong along with both Connors I am confident next year will be a good one for Mildenhall that will give the fans, Kevin and myself something to be happy about again. After experiencing my worst season for a few seasons I am keener than ever to put that right and prove to the Mildenhall faithful that Kevin has made the right decision in asking me back for another season. I genuinely believe I can at least put another 1.00 on my average and I am already training and getting my bikes ready in order to do this. I would like to wish all the Mildenhall supporters a Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all again at the 'Meet the riders evening in the New Year”.

  24. Press release from Mildenhall Speedway - Fen Tigers legend returns for 2016 season The latest signing for the 2016 Mildenhall ‘KJM’ Fen Tigers sees the return for a third time in his illustrious career for Fen Tigers legend and fans favourite Jon Armstrong. One of the most respected riders in the sport promoter Kevin Jolly is looking for Armstrong not only to exhibit his skills on the track but bring that all important experience and knowledge to help the younger members of his team. Armstrong previously rode for the Fen Tigers between 2004 & 2006 and again in 2013 and remains one of the masters of the West Row circuit. Now entering his 24th season in the sport the evergreen Mancunian will be looking to add further trophies to the League Championship, Four-Team Championship, Conference Trophy & KO Cup he won with the all conquering 2004 Fen Tigers! Promoter Kevin Jolly was pleased to secure Armstrong’s return – he said – “It became clear during last season how much we lacked an experienced head amongst our young side, and I did not want to go down that road again this time around. Jon is a special rider at Mildenhall and his return will I am sure be met with excitement by our supporters who hold him, like I do, in such high regard. Not only does he bring so much with his skills on the track, but it is in the pits where his experience and knowhow is so invaluable. He always has time for people and is a great team player and both Robert (Henry) and I look forward to working with him again” Armstrong was equally pleased to be returning to the track he calls home – “Once Kevin (Jolly) spoke to me, there was no doubt in my mind I wanted to return to Mildenhall. It is a track I love and the fans there are awesome, many of them we call friends and it will be great to see them again. I have had nothing but happy days at Mildenhall and see no reason why it shouldn’t be the same this time, I enjoy racing at Mildenhall and am looking forward to a good season. I have plenty to sort out ahead of the new season but come next March will be raring to go. Before that I look forward to coming down for the ‘Meet the Riders’ evening and catching up with everyone. I can’t wait to get started now!”
