the good news is that the stadiums are enclosed which will help keep the noise levels down a bit, but still too expensive here. -
Elite League Grand Final 1st Leg - Coventry Friday 17th October
packerman replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thanks Flagrag for your input from inside it is always good to read your posts. Just a pity that the guys in control never heard/took notice of the comments off air by Nigel that we heard "why aren't they getting on with it? " -
Elite League Grand Final 1st Leg - Coventry Friday 17th October

According to Shoutty & Nicey they claimed that the referee said it was only the bikes that mattered tonight. That might of been due to the wind billowing the tapes? -
Elite League Grand Final 1st Leg - Coventry Friday 17th October
packerman replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not seeing much of last nights fixture can only think the reason it got to a conclusion was because it started on a wetter track. Coventry's track was dry which meant it was extremely slippery on the inside when the rain came. Have to agree that the meeting took ages to get going, now if they had a tape delay of lets say 15 mins for the benefit of interviews and the meeting had started at 19:30 all would of been ok I think. Obviously if no idiot posted live updates on the thread -

Thank you for that Claret73. every track has it's problems. Poole's is it's antiquated main stand and I won't go on about the track work the other week. Belle Vue , well the less said the better because hopefully the new stadium is coming and are leaving the Dogbowl soon. Coventry I have only been their once and the racing was awful with a really heavy track with next to no passing in the Title playoff in 2010. The viewing on the home straight where you are head height to the track is odd. Eastbourne sadly leaving the league but the facilities again leave alot to desire but the racing isn't too bad. Kings Lynn Having been there only once on a wet night about 15 years ago I think. The racing looks exciting tho Lakeside just too far from the action and no seating unless you bring your own seat facilities more suited for the banger racing fans. Leicester I haven't been to but going by other comments here is no passing unless a rider makes an error. Swindon great racing but the untold horrors of the back staight toilets to go with the above comments. From a fans point of view the catch fencing on the bends spoilt the track action. Wolverhampton as much as I hate to say it the stadium is great for viewing the racing probably the best facilities from a fans point of view. Birimingham another track I have I only been to once great facilities but from my view point on the 1st bend could hardly see the riders on bends 3&4. -
You sure about that? have seen a few GP's that are a bore fest. Vojens & the Italian GP's not held at Lonigo are two in recent times I remember and I know there are others.

Back in the days when Poole were a poor side in the 80's October was full of challenge fixtures to pad the season out. If you were fortunate to have a good team the league cup & KOC were raced then. hope the weather stays away as I might get to only my second fixture of the season :-D

Have to say that the weather this morning is the best we have had in some time with the sun shining down. Unfortunately the weather takes a turn for the worse in the afternoon with possible thundery showers according to http://m.uk.weather.com/hourly/UKXX0113:1:UK
-
Am going through Poole right now and the weather is awful again. Glad I am working so I don't go to this meeting if it is on
-
Glad this meeting has been called off as the weather is absolutely awful now. Even allowing for the covers if used it would be a quagmire.

well the F1 money goes to Bernie!

On a train trip heading west from Bournemouth the weather is improving. Was chucking it down in Bournemouth, miserable at Poole, overcast in Wareham but in Dorchester the sun is shining now at 13:50.

Life Of Tai - Monday Nights Off?
packerman replied to TheReturn's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
All No. 1's averages have dipped this year. Tsi started slowly but got better. Same thing for Poole with Darcy as the heat leaders don't face as many rides against the 2nd strings& reserves -

Shrewd Guest Choices Could Potentially Provide 2014 Elite League Winners !

We need Matt Ford to get Jason Doyle's work visa altered (in the best interest of speedway of course) -
I like the idea but until they sort out who rides for what team in the event of a clash will be hard to sort out. A bit like in the cricket 20/20 champios league where the captain of an Australian team is told to play for an Indian team.

Eastbourne To Close Down
packerman replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
you could say that about most tracks passing has been at a premium since they were brought in. -
Or away the week before!

Birmingham Future In Doubt ? Alan Phillips Has Had Enough!

Great News. All the best Brummie fans -
Is this in the hard copy of the local rag? as unable to see anything online. Although not one of my favourite venues I have had some fond memories of visiting Arlington in the past. I hope something happens to save the club even at this late stage.

I quite enjoyed what I saw on the goggle box this morning. Well done to the Lions but the Eagles threw it away. Most of the passing was caused by an error or two. Glad to see the riders that got a knock walked away.

As suggested earlier my mum would say Tony Lewis & ken Middleditch. She always said that they were called me & my shadow. You don't see it too often nowadays, having said that Darcy Ward can control the pace for a slower teammate.

Who's Going To Watch "life Of Tai" Tonight, And What Are Your Thoughts About Tai Before, And Then After The Programme?
packerman replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I have set this to record now just have to do the second part and watch it. When you consider that I used to go nearly every week to watch I just haven't been able to attend any meetings yet this year :-(
