  1. Cloudy but dry and no rain forecast.
  2. No, nothing on the Bears website.
  3. Well I paid for the stream but , quite frankly, wish I hadn’t. Not a reflection on the stream itself, which was excellent, but the dreadful performance from the Bears against a weakened Monarchs line up. A 3 man team (one of those was a guest reserve) can’t win a meeting. Allen was a very poor guest, disappointed Edwards (after his spell at Edinburgh last year) seemed so far off the pace and the least said about Roynon and Andersen the better. Not even competitive. Pickering aside, no one looked like passing anyone and most races were settled by the end of the first lap. Bears gating was generally appalling and they were way behind after turn 2. Bears deserved nothing from the meeting.
  4. Wright injured tonight for the Aces might change the Redcar line up?

    Redcar v Poole 13/5/22

Didn’t go or see the stream but Poole obviously well worth the large away win based on the updates, so well done to them. Thought the Pirates would have too much strength in depth, particularly with 2021 honorary Bear Drew Kemp at reserve. Bears have looked vulnerable at home a few times already and needed the top 3 all to be on top form and they obviously weren’t. Weakness of the team is the second strings, reserves are young lads on the up so can’t expect big points from them consistently. There will be a few away sides eyeing up points at Redcar this year I reckon.

A person did say that (personally I think they are one of the best posters on here) but it was only his (or her) guess.

    Wolves v Lynn 2/5

I gave up watching after 3 races. Sounds like I made the right decision.
  8. Turns out I was being optimistic.Only 1 heat winner, so a poor showing. Leicester very strong at home.
  9. Another cracking match at the Ecco arena and I’m glad the meeting was streamed, as the first meeting from Redcar wasn’t the best. All the Bears featured in good races with Charles last bend win in Heat 13 probably the highlight. Oxford were always in it and impressed with Jack Thomas. Good nights entertainment.
  10. Given Leicesters strength at home I think it will be a comfortable home win, 55-35. Hope I'm wrong though.

Oxford vs Redcar KOC 27th April 22

Good fight back from the Bears and could have been even closer if Wright and Kerr hadn’t had tape exclusions. When the guest reserve is chosen for Heat 15 you know you’ve made a good booking. Nice to see Adam get a few points away from home.Hopefully the Bears can pull it back on Friday.

Two pages of how to decide who crossed the line first and lots of suggestions on what should be done. Why don’t you just ask me and Sidewinder who crossed the line first, we always agree ….

Good idea. Might stop them making rubbish decisions. But I doubt it.

    Redcar v Leicester

Yes that’s the one. Directly in line with the start and finish line. 72.18 yards away according to google maps.

    Redcar v Leicester

Yes - an opinion based on my own eyes (from a perfect position to see who crossed the line first). Saying it as I saw it, as I always do and try to be fair to both teams. Everyone around me actually laughed when the result was announced.

    Redcar v Leicester

Three when you count the decision that sparked the incident.

Morris added to the entertainment last night. He’s a real racer and can understand why he was upset at the Heat 11 decision. As long as he wasn’t abusive I have no issue with his actions, a pantomime villain always gives a bit of interest.

    Redcar v Leicester

Well it’s a pity that the meeting wasn’t streamed as that was easily the best meeting at Redcar this year on a bitterly cold night. Lions deserved their point and it could have been closer if Morris hadn’t dropped points with and EF and the, quite frankly, ludicrous decision to award Riss the win in Heat 11 (awaits someone to tell me they were right in line and the ref was right) For the Bears the top 3 were as consistent as usual but it was Andersen picking up a decent score that tipped it Bears way. For the Lions Morris, Worrall and Rowe were excellent value but a disappointing return from Jorgensen cost them. Some cracking, close racing on an excellent track, Heat 15 in particular was a fantastic race. Meeting rattled along at a good pace and was over in less than an hour and a half, which was much appreciated considering how cold it was.

I think with Ben Duffill being the man behind the British Speedway Network and stepping down from his role with the Bears, it might be the end of streaming every match at Redcar? Just a guess though, no inside info.

    Redcar v Leicester

I think the Lions website still says that Redcar is streaming the match, when they aren’t.

Redcar have a second ambulance this season. What’s the cost of an abandonment?

    Plymouth v Leicester

Pretty sure Leicester will score well at Redcar on Friday.
  23. Not a bad meeting. Bears heat leaders very good, second strings not so good. Special praise to Jason Edwards who rode (and battled) really well tonight. For the Brummies, Ellis was very good and most other riders chipped in. Pearson looks like a very good prospect considering his age and it being his first visit to the track.

    Nigel Pearson RIP

Awful news. Sympathies to his family and friends. There was no greater advocate or enthusiast for Speedway than Nigel at a time when the sport needs it more than ever. RIP
