    Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09

Thought it was a cracking meeting and would have said the same even if the Lazarus Bears hadn’t pulled off another miraculous comeback. Leicester were electric out of the starts early on and stormed into a 12 point lead after 8 heats.Thought Ht 14 had scuppered our chances but 5-1 in Heat 15 squared it all up. Wrighty back to his best and Kerr fantastic. MPT had a rare off night and Allen struggled more than usual (not through lack of effort). Great last ride from Jenkins too. For Leicester - Howarth, Morris, Kennedy, Douglas all showed they like the Redcar track and contributed to some good races. Bears continue to struggle early in meetings and it will be their downfall in the playoffs but it was another good, entertaining speedway meeting in front of a large crowd. A good night out.
  2. To be fair Steve, I know your Dad and my dad was bigger!
  3. Yes it’s Redcar who are damaging the image of British Speedway. Utter tosh (apparently I can’t say bollocks) If Birmingham are so convinced they have been wronged they would be putting in a formal protest rather than saying on their website “It just wasn’t going our way, but we’ve got to forget today now, start again and go to Edinburgh and get a win in the KO Cup”
  4. You could be onto something. I’ve noticed Speedway riders turning left for years. I’m sick of the mainstream media advocating slick tracks too. #defundtheBSPA
  5. Well you started it ;). I’ve heard all about how difficult it is getting in an out of the stadium due to roadworks, Commonwealth games works etc after listening to the Radio WM commentary a number of times this season. Must have put a lot of casual fans off from attending.
  6. Obviously. Redcar and their team of notoriously good gaters just love it dusty and clicked their fingers and the ref caved in to their demands. Bears are always pulling this trick, go behind and complain about the track. Works every time. That’s what happens when you’re a Diva. Although leaving after 4 heats could be described as “diva” like behaviour too. It’s Teesside by the way.
  7. So the Brummies can’t ride the track if it’s dusty? Seemed to do ok when they beat Leicester a few weeks ago when according to updates it was a complete dust bowl. Same dust bowl conditions when you beat Redcar by 20 points in the KOC meeting which shouldn’t have been re-run anyway. So by your theory the Bears wanted to get the track back to how it was when they lost by 20 points?
  8. Yup I’m biased. But not irrational. Scapegoating Redcar for your own team and promotions shortcomings.
  9. I am proud to be a Redcar supporter. A well run, well promoted, good team on a fair, well prepared racetrack. A model for most other teams in the league. Can understand you’re upset at tonight’s events but the blame, if the Brummies don’t run next year, doesn’t lie with Redcar. The Bears have been well beaten a number of times away this year and not complained about track issues. The issues with track prep at Birmingham have been well documented.
  10. The problem seems to be the track. Some questions are easier than others to answer.
  11. Surely the best indication is that that track work was carried out, I’m assuming with the referees approval. If it wasn’t necessary then it wouldn’t have been sanctioned.
  12. Ah so it’s the visiting teams that are the problem, not the track prep?
  13. Yes. But there is a big difference between walking a track and racing on it.
  14. If the referee thought the track was safe then they would have been told just to get on with it without the extensive track work surely?

    Redcar vs Poole 20/08/21

Couldn’t go but sounds like I missed a good meeting. Thought Poole would win, so excellent fight back. There was a stream?
  16. Pretty decent meeting and Ellis a worthy winner. Definitely a rider on the up. As a Redcar fan pleased to see Charles on the rostrum again, wasn’t expecting much after he failed to win a race at home against Plymouth yesterday but finally made a few starts.

    Scunthorpe v Redcar - 13.08.21

Yes, Sunderland did it for their first match of the season. I’ve also seen it happen quite often at speedway too. A hundred people waiting to get in is a good proportion of the crowd at a speedway meeting. If it was a few stragglers I would agree with you, but sometimes outside issues mean it’s not possible to get there on time.

    Redcar 2020

Hope he gets his health and his confidence back. Best decision for him if he’s not going to be fully fit. Not many riders available - Ty Proctor?
  19. Newcastle could always appeal to the SCB, as they don’t mind arranging re-runs when Redcar are involved.
  20. Well I was right about Howarth, the Bears guests did rather well (26 paid 34 so thanks lads) and the Bears heat leaders scored well. Good 4 points.
  21. Tried to post a cartoon which says : Let me interrupt your expertise my confidence
  22. Not much to choose between Wethers and Howarth around Newcastle and it’s hard finding guests who have low enough averages and ride well around Brough so I’m ok with the guests chosen. Still fancy it will be a home win, not confident our heat leaders enjoy riding the track.

Redcar vs Newcastle Fri 23 July

We are very lucky at Redcar to have an excellent promotion and that’s why it’s a shame Jitendra is standing down at the end of the season.

Redcar vs Newcastle Fri 23 July

Just one of those nights. Glad it could get through to 10 heats, but even that was a struggle. Hope the injured lads are ok.
