It’s almost as if you know what you’re talking about ;)

    Redcar v Eastbourne 2/7/21

Well done to the Eagles on a fully deserved win. Solid throughout the team and never really looked like losing. If a visiting rider is short on confidence, get him to Redcar and it’ll all come flooding back ( Edward Kennett I’m looking at you!) Heavy shower before the start made the track very soggy, particularly early on, and passing was almost impossible, making gating paramount and the Eagles consistently were much quicker to the first bend. 10 points down after 5 heats was too big a deficit to pull back. The Bears just had one of those nights - Charles had a retirement and two nasty looking falls, MPT had bike issues when in 2nd in his first ride but was superb after that. Rowe took a nasty tumble and looked to have damaged his shoulder, Sarjeant and Jenkins had falls too. R/R not working for the Bears and they’ve been too inconsistent. Still some excellent racing in a few heats when the track dried out but disappointed in how the meeting started from a Bears perspective.

Agree it should be a close meeting. Bizarre situation where Anders moves to reserve in the Championship after moving up into the Top 5 with his Premiership team.Hopefully will help him increase his scores, although he’s up against good reserves tonight.

    BIRMINGHAM SEASON RESUMES JULY 7th

Let’s hope there is a big crowd, a prompt start time, a decent track, good racing and justice prevails and the Bears go through.
  5. Meeting postponed. No surprise, lots of rain overnight and light rain forecast all day.

    SCB Explanation? Lack of consistency

Given that a Brummies rider had been excluded for causing the crash that injured Jordan, then the best (realistically) the Brummies could have achieved was a 3-3 meaning the lead would have been still a minimum of 8 points. Would the result have been awarded then or are they trying to say because it’s a two legged fixture you can’t award? Maybe another fag packet is required to right the rules for the KOC on the back of.
  7. With R/R for Bacon I reckon Dan Gilkes will be very busy on Friday (weather permitting). Heeps normally scores well at Redcar but he’s just back from injury so that might impact. Bears should win this but have been very inconsistent, so hard to be too confident.
  8. I missed the fact he had got points in his last ride (wasn’t there and only following on updates). Every other Diamond won a race was the point I meant to make.
  9. Excellent result for the Diamonds. Good choice of guest and all riders (apart from JPB) contributing. Team looks weak on paper but they all ride Brough Park well and will make it tough for most teams who go there. Sad to see Ty a shadow of his former self. Hopefully this will bolster the chances of the club continuing this season. Last thing we need is to lose another club.
  10. About what I expected but frustrating as a Bears fan that the team is so inconsistent. Hard to get anything when Allen, Rowe and Sarj score 10 between them. R/R not working for the Bears (3 tonight) and R/R probably scored more for the Lions than Bates would have scored on recent form.Another good performance from Jordan Jenkins though, he’s been excellent so far this year. Lions are a strong team and Dan Thompson is looking a good prospect, was impressed with him at Redcar on Thursday. They will be right up there again at the end of the season. Sounds like some decent racing too (according to the updates)
  11. Agreed. Bates has scored 1 from 8 rides at home this year. Makes it a harder task for the Bears this evening.
  12. Not a bad meeting, the gulf in class between the top lads and the others meant quite a lot of strung out races. Gilkes a deserved winner, very impressive. Bickley put all his laps around Redcar to good use and Jason Edwards and the Thompson’s impressed. Mentions for Archie Freeman and Ben Trigger who showed real tenacity and gave it a good go.
  13. Don’t normally attend these meetings but making an exception for this one. Be a shame if it costs Redcar money given the circumstances.

    Redcar 2020

Can fully understand Jitendras decision, if it’s affecting his mental health and personal life he has to do what’s best for him. He has been a fantastic “face” of Redcar Speedway over the last few years and the improvements to the club, both on and off the track, are a testament to all his hard work. Good luck and thank you.

    Peterborough v Wolves 14/6

He explained his reason on the TV. Didn’t want to concede 2 5-1’s and let Wolves have a point. Not agreeing with it but that was the justification.

    Peterborough v Wolves 14/6

Cracking meeting and some superb racing. As a neutral I’d be happy to just watch meetings from Peterborough and Belle Vue. The other PL tracks tend to offer a much poorer TV experience.
  17. The form team of the league arrive at MPA today on the back of their convincing win over the Bears on Friday at home. A very solid team and boosted by Drew Kemp replacing Jack Smith which definitely makes them stronger in my opinion. The Tigers top 6 have all ridden Redcar well in the past and will be confident of a win. Bears third meeting in three days (fourth in four for half of the team) and that might take its toll on men and machinery. Hopefully boosted by the away win at Berwick last night but will need all of the Bears to ride well if they are to get anything from this meeting. Hottest day of the year and an afternoon start, let’s hope the track is as well prepared as the Brummies match and it should be a cracker.

    Connor Bailey

Think they made a mistake choosing 1 and 3 in Heat 15 too. But I’m not complaining.

    Redcar v Glasgow 13th June

Well said. I enjoyed Fridays meeting and the teams served up some great racing in both matches. Both excellent adverts for the sport.

    Redcar v Glasgow 13th June

Well didn’t see that coming before Heat 14 but credit to Anders, James, Jake and Charles for riding their backsides off in the last 2 heats to give the Bears an unexpected victory. I thought the Bears would all have to ride at their best and everything go their way for them to win today. They were still inconsistent and Sarj’s bike problems in Heat 2 when clear and Jake falling off when in the points meant we dropped a few but they came good when they needed too. For the Tigers,Cook and Ullie were the pick. Ricky started very well but faded and we only got glimpses of the reserves talents. Sedgmen was the weak link on a track that he’s ridden a lot and I was very surprised he was in Heat 14. Some cracking races, Allen was great and Charles Wright is just a joy to watch. Becoming my favourite Teesside/Boro/Redcar rider of all time which tells you a lot about him. Glasgow are still the strongest team in the league and played their full part in a great match but it was an excellent advert for speedway today at a time when the sport badly needs good things to happen. Great to see so many Tigers fans in attendance, obviously disappointed but added much to the atmosphere. On a less happy note, sad to read Jitendra’s comments in the programme about becoming disillusioned with the people running the sport and saying he is giving up his role as promoter at the end of the season. Redcar and the sport of speedway can Ill afford to lose people who act in the professional and dignified way that he has run the club since taking over. Other clubs should take note and I hope he reconsiders as he would be a massive loss.

That was Flints average I calculated. Poor Sam will only be in the 8’s now...

Don’t think guests is the issue, it’s the fact, in this case that the riders are deemed equal due to the rising star status. Its within the rules, just that it’s one of those occasions where it doesn’t seem to work.

I think he’s averaging about 7.3 ish according to my calculations (what else is there to do on the hottest day of the year)

    Redcar v Glasgow 13th June

Yup, two form reserves in the League. Flint won Heat 1 when he guested for us beating Wright and Chris Harris and has been in double figures most meetings this season. Jack is a decent enough rider but I think we all know that all 3* riders are not the same. A difficult match made much harder.

Well that’s a sledgehammer to a peanut. We had Flint guesting to replace one of our top 5 and he was excellent. Things definitely going the Tigers way this year and this boosts an already strong team. Most teams struggle when they lose a rider, Tigers seem to have been boosted. When things are going for you, they’re really going for you. You should be looking for 4 points with that team today. (Anyone know what Flint is averaging this season?)
