    Plymouth v Redcar

Good effort from the lads tonight, everyone chipped in at some point and great to see Erik scoring well (although the track was perfect for him, gate and it was very difficult to pass) Hope Barker is ok after that nasty looking fall. Not sure R/R will be as effective tomorrow night though.

Whoosh. Maybe I should have added a wink emoji, but I assumed people wouldn’t take it seriously.

    Plymouth v Redcar

Sounds like they tried to get a guest but were unsuccessful at such short notice. Probably try and get one of the Poole lads to guest tomorrow night..

    Plymouth v Redcar

Charles injury (and the fact it’s R/R and not a guest) is a massive blow to the Bears chances.
  5. Yes, watched the stream and thought it was a decent meeting, particularly early on as it got a bit gate and go the last few heats. Pickering as entertaining as ever, brilliant double pass in his second ride. Hagon started brightly and looks a good prospect. Edwards star man for the Bears and everyone (except Harrison) scored points, although very inconsistently in most cases. Hume had a good meeting too. Decent stream - the commentary was better than the camera work I’d say though.
  6. Given our last showing at the EWR, where we made Simon Lambert look like Bartosz Zmarzlik, I think Scunthorpe are the favourites. Especially as we will be weaker without Mulford.

    Redcar 2023

Dreadful news for Jake and Redcar. Been excellent the last few weeks and extremely hard to replace on his average.

Redcar Vs Plymouth 23rd June league

Not there tonight but will be following the updates. Hope Jason can re-discover his form and use the dropping at Kings Lynn as motivation.
  9. Erik on his Facebook today blaming his bikes, not his illness, for the performance. “A terrible night for myself, I was giving it everything out on track but simply couldn’t get out of the starts and struggled to find any speed in my bike tonight. Sorry to the Redcar promotion and the fans for my performance.” Certainly no need to apologise.
  10. Gutted against Poole again but fair play to them they never know when they are beaten (and never are at Redcar). But a fantastic meeting with some superb racing. BSN viewers certainly got their monies worth. We can’t get all of our team firing at the same time but credit to Hume and Mulford tonight they were excellent. Erik not at his best and Danny not quite at it when needed. Lawson superb and Ben Cook a joy to watch. Oh and I prefer the old system where it’s called a draw……
  11. Erik riding at 5 this week instead of 3, Wright back to No.3
  12. It’s a fair point, but I doubt many on here know what tests, medical examinations have taken place, so it’s just speculation really. If he’s not medically fit to ride then he shouldn’t, if he is then he should.
  13. On non ophthalmic matters, it’s going to be interesting to see the condition of the track, given the prolonged hot and dry weather.
  14. Not sure you can say that for all of our riders yet!
  15. Good point really - Poole are probably stronger this time around with Rowe back and been riding well. Edwards has found it difficult at 4 but Bailey and Mulford have improved recently and will need to contribute against their opposite numbers.
  16. Poole favourites again for me, a team of 5 ex Bears and the other 2 members of the team are the Cook brothers who both love the track. Big winners on their last 3 visits so won’t be short on confidence. Meeting will be decided by the second strings and reserves, Pooles bottom 3 (r/r for Rowe last time) heavily outscored the Bears bottom 4 and if that happens again it will be a similar result. Bears were outgated last time around too and need to give themselves a chance this time. Having Riss back should help and hopefully a good meeting for BSN. Oh and it’s Teesside btw ( there is no River Tee - I’d insert a winky emoji but my phone won’t let me)

    Redcar V Berwick 9/6/23

I think most people would think that coming away from Poole with only a 6 point defeat was a good result and I think that’s what Gavin was saying. However I guess if you are used to winning everything you have to look for any perceived slight for motivation. Poole were just far too quick and determined on the night.

    Redcar V Berwick 9/6/23

No they didn’t underestimate them, Poole had won their last 2 meetings at Redcar and just rode much better as a team on the night.

    Redcar V Berwick 9/6/23

Good to see Erik back, certainly hasn’t forgotten how to gate and will get racing sharpness back the more he rides. Comfortable win against a poor Berwick team in the end. Everyone chipped in and great to see Mulford ride with a bit more confidence. Only Knudsen and Hook were positives for the Bandits.

    Redcar V Berwick 9/6/23

Not totally confirmed yet? From Bears press release:- Redcar are hopeful of welcoming back long term illness victim Erik Riss with Parr explaining how the German’s participation in tomorrow’s meeting will be decided, ” Erik had a really good practise session at Redcar on Sunday and apart from him aching after not being on the bike for so long, there wasn’t any concerns surrounding his brain fog. Risky has two appointments tomorrow with neurology and the eye specialists and he will let us know tomorrow evening whether he will be racing.” If he’s not fit then it’s Lawson guesting.

    Scunny v Redcar 02.06.2023 league

Agree about King, not a track he rides particularly well, but Wright has scored 11, 13 and 14 on his last 3 visits and beat Douglas from the back last time there so he’s normally a lot better than he was last night.

    Scunthorpe 2023

Scunthorpe will definitely be up there, they will be very strong at home and it makes a difference when riders like Lambert (no disrespect) can totally dominate riders with much higher averages. Bit like Redcar they will also do well on certain away tracks but not sure they have the fire power to win it all. Poole still favourites for me.
