  1. Surely it's Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson's "turn" to receive wildcards in 2011 (assuming neither qualify by right)?
  2. Bjarne looked very good, as did Kasprazak. Nicky was by far the best rider on show. Adams didn't look as if he had his usual speed and when he missed the start he didn't seem to have any answer. Mads looked awesome in his first ride when he beat Emil, but didn't seem to have anything after that. Stead was, well, steady.
  3. It costs a quid. Be patient with the stewards. Other than that I can't see there being any problems.

    Grand Prix Series

Ignoring Rossi, what does a middle to low order Moto GP or World Superbikes rider earn? I presume they only ride in one series? It's interesting that these riders can earn a living from just one competition, whereas speedway riders compete in up to three leagues as well as the SGP. Not so much with Moto GP, as it is the creme de la creme of motorcycle racing, but how does World Superbikes generate the revenue to support the series and all the riders - and why can't SGP do the same?

    Wildcards 2010

I agree with this (maybe not the stable GP-rdier bit though!) Getting some new riders in the series is a good step and with Cardiff being the biggest event is was always likely that two Brits would get a wildcard. I guess that either Nichols or Harris will still get a ride at Cardiff by virtue of winning the British Final.

  7. I think Spook's suggestion that they want to ensure the meeting goes ahead is a far more likely explanation for slick tracks. I know for a fact that one major broadcaster in the UK is turned off of speedway because of the risk of rain-offs and having to fill two plus hours of prime time television with repeats.

    League Of Nations

I think it's actually a very good idea if the right format could be designed. Presumably Australia would have their "home" track somewhere in Europe, which would mean an extra meeting per year in a couple of countries.
  10. Is there any live updates for this?

Let's be honest, there are only one or two questions you can ask a rider after he's just won a heat - and having to do 25 post-race interviews is always going to get a bit repetative. Personally I think she does a good job - although I'd like to see more of Johno.
  13. I think Stephen Hawking should attend every meeting and run his wheelchair into the shins of any rider who claims they're going to give "110%".
  14. Does this mean Bjerre's total is 15 or 18?
  15. I like option 3 - but rather than a reserve rider, why not have teams put their best rider in this position and then use then tactically throughout the meeting?
  16. Why not have a 5 man team and then a 6th "wild" rider? The 5 team members all have five programmed rides each and then the 6th rider can take up to five rides at any point in the meeting in place of his team-mates. Effectively you'd put your best rider at #6 and then they can take rides either tactically or to cover injuries.
  17. As the "informed" Swindon fan on Thursday told me "the rider in front can do anything he likes". Looks like he's been proves wrong twice.
  18. Would be grateful if you could check this for me - as I was thinking of attending too.

    Cardiff 2009

I have to that overall we had an excellent day. The atmosphere was amazing, if you could bottle it up and bring it back to club meetings then speedway would be thriving in this country. The racing - The best I've seen at Cardiff. The track looked smooth and consistent and the riders appear to appreciate that. Good to see riders moving off the white line as early as heat 1! Nicholls/Sayfutdinov - Handbags at ten paces. Nothing more. One might say that Nicholls, as the older and more experienced rider, should have taken the moral high ground and not got involved. Jason Crump - A worthy winner. Looked very good indeed and I'd be more than happy to see him go on and win the championship. The crowd - The crowd was definitely down on last year. We were sat on the apex of the first and second bends, which were excellent seats and very busy, but other areas which were almost full last year looked as if they had plenty of space. The referee - I think all three first bend exclusions were harsh and if it were a club match then I am confident it would have been all four back in every instance. However, if the refs have been advised that they must exclude someone, then I feel they must favour the rider who holds their line and exclude the rider who moves across - in that case the first two decisions were wrong and only the last one was right. The presentation - Excellent as ever. We had no problems hearing the results and times. The music however was shocking. The only time a song from this decade was played was during the firework display at the end. As always the event was impeccably organised. There was a massive queue for the park and ride bus on the way home, but there was a constant stream of buses turning up and it only took ten minutes or so to get everyone on their way home. I do hope promoters look at Cardiff and try and take the best bits back to their home clubs. The GPs prove it's not hard to add some sparkle to speedway so that it appears more F1 and less spit 'n' sawdust.
  23. I thought the sound quality was excellent on the apex of the 1 and 2nd bends - the only problem was the choice of music which was a cross between an under 5's disco and a 65th wedding anniversary. There is absolutely no need to Agadoo or Hi Ho Silver Lining. Ever.
  24. We arrived at the stadium just after quarter to five. Sounds like it was perfect timing

First person to post a screen capture of Nicholls on the floor crying like a baby whilst Sayfutdinov spanks his ass, wins a prize.
