  1. Such a sad excuse for the school to give to exclude Godfrey, like Mike i feel it is a big loss to Plymouth Speedway not to have him involved with there future, like they say sticks and stones, my grandsons will be going that school next year, i just hope they act more grown-up then the people that run the school do, very sad little people, i have a lot of respect for Godfrey for saying what he thinks, a lot more respect than i have for the people that run the school, perhaps they don't like hearing the truth, otherwise they would have shrugged it off as just someone's opinion.

  2. Touchy Touchy, it was you who said when the changes that will happen, happen , without any qualification

When they happen i will remind you with qualification, your just picking at a post you no nothing about, you just assume you do, changes will be made by most teams next year in all the leagues, and when they are, making the right one's at the right time is the sign of a good team manager, it was a coment in general, and wasn't aimed at any team, and was an answer to a previous post, if you knew anything about speedway you would know that, injuries or not.

  3. Not very positive of you to assume your team won't work so will need changes ???

Where did i say the team won't work, i haven't assumed anything in my post, your the one doing the assuming, riders get injured and changes have to be made, your trying to put words in my mouth, i'm happy with the riders we have now, but you can't have followed speedway very long if you think teams won't be forced to make changes, Scunthorpe were forced to make changes last year, and they won it, and not because they wanted to, because David Howe got injured, i was saying that the sign of a good team manager is when changes have to be made, they make the right one's, not hard to understand is it, no mention that i'm not happy with the team we have, it's part on the sport, and how dangerous it is.

  4. Didn't Lee say at the end of last season that he wanted Jake Anderson to stay?

Yes i can remember Lee saying that, it just makes me think why would you send a contract by mail to a rider living abroad, you would email them or fax them to them, i would think thats the way the four riders we already have had been done that way, when Lee said that the contracts have been sent out to the two remaining riders made me think they are British, i wouldn't post a contract to a rider living in America or Europe when i could email or fax it to him, it maybe the same postman Mike Bowden used.

  5. You have to support the ideas of the promotion and the team manager. It is a very rare occurrence that a team that starts a season finishes that season intact, no matter where they are positioned come the end. Changes will happen, for whatever reasons as the season progresses, but the main objective is complete. We are at the starting tapes come March. Whoever puts on a bib for any team should be given the chance to prosper and grow, and shown positive backing from all of their supporters, then as the season progresses, there will be ample opportunity to pass comment on how you see things are developing.

Good post Dave, coming from someone who has followed speedway for a while, the sign of a good team manager is one that when they have to make changes, and there will be changes, makes the right ones at the right time, good one Dave.

What I can't understand is after reading several comments on this thread not many people rate our side and think we're going to finish lowly once more! I just can't understand the reasoning!! Personally if the remaining 2 signings are okay then we have a very good side and should be challenging for the play offs!! Plymouth are going to surprise one or two pessimists here!!!! The promotion I believe have put together a decent looking outfit!!!

If Mark Lemon and Ty Proctor get back to there best, we will have a very good side, because on there day they are has good a rider has the best in the PL, Mark has had a few average seasons, and Ty hasn't been riding enuff meetings, if Lee can get them back to near there best and we are in with a chance.

  6. Yes, there is a lot of positivity, down in Plymouth, but with that comes raised expectations, definately you are stronger than Sheffield, but can we compare you with your nearest rivals, up in Somerset? no i dont think so, lower mid table would be the best i could see, and a lot will depend on Hot Toddy down at reserve.

Get Seemond & co to look at putting an NL team out in 2013, we could certainly do with some more competition from down there, and riding under The Falcons banner would go down well with the shareholders.

It was asked at the meeting on thursday about running a junior team, Ashley did say that they would be trying to have a 10 o/clock finish instead of a 9.30 finish but would not say that running a NL was something they would look at, i think that would be down to the Council, and i can't see them going for that, but i would be happy to watch two meetings on a friday, and maybe pay extra to do that, but i'm happy to pay the £14 for what they are asking for next year.

  7. i am sure lee has done his homework on gino so lets give him a chance before we write him off,as for ben read remember he was riding in the main body of the team alot of the time last season and everyone is always banging on about the young brits being given a chance so lets do that give the lad a chance i,m sure if ben finds it hard going lee will take the nessecary steps some people are never happy look at the difference and positivity we have as a club this season compared to last, also todd being at reserve could be a trump card

Lewy if Lee wants to give Ben Reade a place in the team then i will support that, but in my opinion i dont thin he is a PL rider yet, it's only an opinion, and i will support the team no matter who rides for the team.

  8. As a Redcar fan i will give you my view on Dilger. He had the 2 good away meetings at Plymouth and Rye.

Also had alot of very poor away. Put in a few decent performances at home. Tended to fall and has a real awkward style exiting the bends.

My gripe was commitment, missed important meetings, favouring to ride in non FIM meetings on the continent.

I personally do not want him back with the Bears in 2013, and as he has already signed a contract to ride in Denmark next year shows that where his main preference is.

May i also congratulate the new 4 man consortium. A very useful 5 signing's. Think Proctor will become a master of the tight St.Boniface Arena track. He will struggle to acheive his 9.22 starting average, but will be a genuine number 1 home and away.

I think if it is down to his commitment then i can't see Plymouth signing him, but i don't think Ben Reade is a PL rider, last year most of his points for Stoke was at reserve in the NL, that don't don't make him a PL rider, this year we shall see how good he is riding has an heat leader in the Stoke team, then if he does well maybe he can give it a go in the PL, but going on last year when riding for the Devils, he did nothing in my opinion to show he is a PL rider yet, if other supporters think he is then i must be watching a different rider.

  9. Not sure about Manzares,tbh.

He went on the Aussie tour a few years.Homesick after a few weeks. Also got a bit aggressive threatening one and all with his martial arts skills.

Hope Im wrong, but have my doubts. Will be at rsserve once the first set of new averages come into play.

And i would't go for Reade, i don't know if Max Dilger has signed for anyone yet, but thats the other reserve i would go for, was a match winner when he came down with Redcar, 13+3 two wins and two paid wins in that, Reade gives everything but not to sure if he is up to PL standard yet

  10. Dear Mr Dodger,

I totally respect your and other peoples opinions on the forum. It may pay for you to do the same. My post was put together after having read a number of previously posted teams that i had seen and using names that had been in other forum members teams. It was an opinion of which i and other people are entitled, not just yours!

The new promotion will do things there way and i will follow the team as i have always done. I will offer my total support to the riders, whoever pulls on a devils race jacket. At the end of the day the team needs to be competative in order that the paying public come and support the club. The track, facilities, lighting, bankings, fencing etc etc are all sub standard and will need to be improved for sure.

The team will be what it is but my guess is they will go for a competitive solid team with no out and stars. A team capable of winning home and away.

Personally id like to see an air fence, which maybe us as supporters could raise the money for over a period of time. A pound a week from each of us and it would soon mount up. It would benefit all. Just an opinion before you borrowed

    Dear Mr Snafu.

If you want to put an opinion on this site then you do it, but if you want to pay me to read yours then you can do that to, i would also like to see an air fence at the track, but has the track is now there is no chance, thats just my opinion mind you, and i respect yours to but for some reason you don't think i do, thats down to you, i will be at the meeting tonight, see you there if your going.

  11. It would be great to have a dream team at the club neat year, but there are more things to be done within the club than just getting a team together that everyone will be happy with, make no mistake there are lots to be done at the track than off the track at the club, Godfrey said earlier the track needs lots of work, because it was done on the cheap to start with, and talking to riders i was told that the clay that was put down was half the thickness it should have been, so that will need to be sorted, the area around the track also needs to be updated, because the place is a shambles, and a danger to anyone when it is dark, cables that are on show need to be put undeground, they are on show all around the track, and has been like that from day one.

So taking over the club will not be all about getting the team together, it will i think be a complete overhaul of the club, yes i would like to see a PL winning team at the club, but i do understand what needs to be done within the club to bring it up to date, and to make it safe for supporters to bring there familys on a friday, something the previous owner overlooked, and i am behind anything the new owners feel they need to do, teamwise and trackwise.

  12. Ingalls is out for whole 2013 season. Why do people (on several threads) keep trying to resurrect his career?

Like you say forget about Ingalls for this year, but i would be very surprised if we see Fisher back this year, the one thing you don't want is riders saying they don't like the track, good rider but not a patch on Ben around the sba, i would settle for Ty Procter at no1, but i will be happy to have the rider the club brings in, i'm sure Lee and Seemond know that it is essential to have a very good no 1 rider to spearhead the team, also great news about Seemond.

  13. It is very true after Mr Saunders left Somerset Speedway support for Nathan from management edged away, he stuck by his side of the letter of intent

I have even seen him be totally ignored by various members of the management team

Like the management at Plymouth when he was down there, who's idea of helping bring on any youngster who showed promise was to give them four laps before the home meetings.
