Possibly Porterpoolie (like Warhorses by the way) - but - there is enough trouble already on these Forums without other people stirring it up for us. Steve does not deserve anyone getting at HIM either - we just have different views on certain things that's all. WARHORSES - I REALLY DO like that!!!! Yes Porterpoolie this will do nicely. I am no longer the 'OTHER' Mackem!!!. THANK YOU FOR THAT. THE 'WARHORSE'

    Stars Of Tomorrow

Hang on a minute - I pay my money AND have a right to an opinion. If I think something is WRONG - I will say so, if I think something is RIGHT - I will also say so. The 'Stars of Tomorrow' was a GREAT Meeting - as Steve said it was all put together very quickly - the ONLY thing that we are querying is the Format used. IT WAS NOT FAIR TO ALL!! Are you saying we are wrong for pointing this out - if so - then I think you need to take a long hard look at yourself. I WOULD just like to say in view of your Post, Backless - Thank you to the Consortium for staging an EXCELLENT Meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and Arlo winning was the icing on the cake for me. Just looked at your Profile - why don't you stick with the 'Diamonds' and stop causing trouble on here.

    Stars Of Tomorrow

Steve I do think your remarks are a bit over the top. Bob was merely querying the Berwick/Redcar Programme Format and whether or not a fairer system could be found. There is no cause for some of your personal comments. I know that you do a lot of hard work at Redcar - but - other people have opinions too - AND - what is is more - THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THEM. I believe this whole issue arose after the Promotion said at the start of the Season that Arlo had been given twelve Matches to prove himself. Nobody else - not Benji - JUST Arlo. That immediately polarized people - it SEEMED that only one Rider was being picked on. I have no problem at all with Benji, I enjoy watching him - BUT - as I have said MANY times - with ALL the experience he has had - he is actually no better than Arlo. I believe Arlo will develope as a Rider - Benji - I don't know. He can be great one week and ordinary the next. Arlo is improving at a steady rate. It's just that I believe (I could be wrong) that Arlo has MORE potential. As for Bob and myself being labelled as in the Arlo camp - then I have to say - yes I am. I do not like injustice and it seemed a bit unfair to single him out before the Season even started. Ian The 'OTHER' Mackem

I DON'T agree with that statement Mark. Arlo was WELL ahead when Stu came off. Hope Stuart is recovered now and is OK . It WAS a VERY nasty smash.

    Stars Of Tomorrow

Agree 100% Scarletrider. I too feel very sorry for Stuart Swales but it ought to be remembered that ARLO WAS leading when Swales came to grief. I think Arlo showed a lot of bottle tonight - everyone seemed to think it was Arlo v. Benji - WELL - perhaps we can put THAT one to bed now. The 'Other' Mackem
  7. Have we anybody who is?? - I DON'T THINK SO!!!

    My Thoughts On The Future

Nor I. Speedway is in the blood. Football got washed out of my life years ago.

    Issue 25 Coming Soon

Nice Post Tony - I did wonder about that. Come on Folks - buy the BackTrack AND Classic Speedway Magazines from the people who actually write and publish them. They are a bloody good read and if we buy them from source we ensure that they continue to be produced.

Who Would You Like To See An Article On?

Yes - you are right - I can't argue with that statement. We did have our success's (Russ Dent, George Barclay) but the rest apart from Goodall who b******d off half way through the Season were - as you say - mediocre.

Anyone know what happened to Alan Mackie - former Sunderland 'Stars' Rider ???????

    My Thoughts On The Future

We have NO Covered accomodation at Redcar, we have NO Seats unless we take our own. The Facilities are basic. What we DO have - however - is FIRST CLASS racing and a FAIR Track. I am a pensioner and am fully prepared to sacrifice the first two for the latter two. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS GOOD SPEEDWAY - the facilities can follow in their own time. Obviously I would like a plush Stadium to stand in - who wouldn't - BUT - the main thing is the Product - SPEEDWAY.

And do you remember those 'cowhorn' handlebars on George's Bike.

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

I'm DEFINATELY not happy with that.... Thank you for helping me with my argument against the (Grand?) Prix System. THEY COULDN'T EVEN GET THE POINTS RIGHT !! Proves my POINT don't you think. (No pun intended).

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

Excellent reply Parsloes 1928. Great that Mark won the Title for GB - BUT - a (Grand?) Prix WINNER who never WON a (Grand?) Prix - Great advert for the GP. COULD ONLY HAPPEN IN SPEEDWAY !!

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

Typical reply from someone trying to wriggle out of responsibility. According to an earlier Post - it was SUNNY. DEFINATELY adverse weather conditions for Speedway !! Wonder what they would have said if it had been RAINING. Any sign of the Race Director taking any responsibility yet?

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

Not to hit yourself on the thumb I hope.

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

Like the German (Grand?) Prix I suppose.

Speedway Star will not say very much at all. The journalistic integrity seems to have disappeared where that Magazine is concerned - it has become a Photograph Album - a nice glossy one true - but still - just an Album. Eric Linden from the old Speedway Star would have had a field day with this farce. He probably would have torn the organisers to shreds. Now he WAS a Speedway Journalist......................

    Gelsenkirchen Off !

That would mean spending MONEY - all people at the top seem interested in - is making it.
