Why all this nonsense about the importance of reserves? There have been many examples of this over the years. Remember the Rio rocket at Poole a few years ago? He scored mega points at reserve, as many others have.

Totally agree with you, the right day will come soon as so many things have gone on that shouldn't and it's made the sport what it is today a real mess.
However The last person to speak out was a promotor and he got his licence taken away for speaking out against Poole.

impression that speedway Is run by s handful of people, and the rest have to go along with them, or else!

What I will say Steve is that I respect Matt as a business person and believe it speaks volumes of his impressive and wide-ranging capabilities when he can attract a main team sponsor to Poole Speedway such as Readypower Engineering Ltd (managing director Julie Mahoney and general manager Rick Frost*).
* Julie Mahoney and Rick Frost are both former promoters of
Peterborough Speedway, who walked out of the BSPA AGM in November 2010 for un-confirmed reasons and mounted a legal challenge against the BSPA.

One thing for sure, Poole will never be regarded in the same way as Belle-Vue, they will be remembered for something different altogether.May tonight's meeting be a huge success, with much more to come.

I can't believe this has happened tonight, can we assume that no one has put in any serious laps on the track before tonight? If that's the case then it really is a shambles. I'm not one for slagging of anything speedway but the sport really does not help itself sometimes.

The worst nightmare has come true, and there can be no excuse whatsoever for this shambles. Once again speedway is made to look very amateurish.

How great to see one of the most famous clubs in speedway in a brand new stadium befitting their great history.
Every time I hear the name Belle Vue, I can't help but think of Peter Craven,one of the greatest English riders ever, and by far the most spectacular of the so-called big 5, of the old National League.
There is no better meeting than this to start of this new era in the club's history.
They have not had the success of old lately, but who knows, this new stadium may pave the way to more success.
One thing for sure, Poole will never be regarded in the same way as Belle-Vue, they will be remembered for something different altogether.
May tonight's meeting be a huge success, with much more to come.

The track is dreadful. Call it off and award it.
