Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick

The problem (as I see it) with all of this is not that they decide one way or another 'in the best interests of speedway'. For me the problem is that they do not EVER explain the decision. Any decision. That fact alone creates the perception that one club or another (usually the one you support.) is getting shafted. Perception is everything. -

To be quite frank its about time Birmingham were given something in their favour. Some may recall how we were not allowed to sign Richard Hall (I think) last year to replace the injured Zach. The MC decided that his current average was not applicable and applied an average of several years ago. At the time Birmingham did not make a song and dance about this decision, other than to say they did not understand it. We just got on with the job in hand. -

Perhaps you would prefer it to be called off when people cant make other plans for there bank holiday. Good move by Brum imo even though it will cost us dearly. -
And now the speedway tavern returns tonight at eight.

I have no problem with Speedway having a tactical element and in fact I think it adds to the show to have some sort of tactical element. Dont like double points however. I also feel that any tactical elements stated aim should be to combat home advantage and as such should only be available to the away side.

Those of you that have listened/watched (to) the Speedway Tavern (Over five thousand of you on the last show.) may be aware that the show has been off the air for a while. You will also be aware of what an integral part of the show is my mate Chris (Webby) Brown. Webby has asked me to convey the following message to everyone. As some of you may have noticed Webby has been quiet of late and the Speedway Tavern has been noticeable by its absence. Around two weeks ago after noticing some changes and being checked out it was found that Webby had a tumour on his bladder. As you can imagine all thoughts of the the speedway tavern became unimportant to everyone. Yesterday Webby had an operation to have the tumour removed and today I was able to speak to him. I am happy to report that the tumour has been completely removed from his bladder. Webby's exact words to me were "It's Gone!" He is being discharged today. I'm off to have a drink in celebration. Happy Easter everyone.

This is news to me. As far as I am aware we try to respond to all messages that come on during the show. A lot of messages appear after the show and of course we can't respond on the show to those. But I will have a word with the back room staff to make sure.

Birmingham Brummies 2017 Hat Trick

A few things to say about what has been said. Firstly Cradley fans do owe Birmingham a debt of grattitude but wont hold my breath waiting for it. Birmingham do not have a devine right to winning the NL. My feelings are that this will be a hard and close season, i think we hurt Cradley and Eastbourne last year and that both teams will pull out all the stops. As for the accusation (So easy to make and so difficult to prove/disprove.) that Birmingham seem to have a bigger cheque than other teams is just laughable. Please take a look at our recent history for gods sake. Tony Mole does not buy his way to championships. (He doesn't buy anything if he can get away with it. lol.) What we do have (at this level) is a history of winning and looking after riders. That is attractive when negotiating with riders and does give us a slight advantage. Red and yellow. Dont for slightest moment believe that next years championship is a sown on certainty. Even if we managed the trick of signing all of the best riders it means nothing in this sport. You only need the wrong injury at the wrong time for all your plans to be scuppered. 2008 still looms large in my memory! My best advice to you at this moment is pull your horns in and enjoy the ride. Having said that I am loving all this rivalry with Cradley it is fun. Particularly as, so far, we have had the upper hand. I sometimes fantasize about going back in time to visit myself during one of the Cradley Birmingham matches of the Eighties. Watching us get beat again and putting a hand on my own younger shoulder to say. "It gets better mate, It gets much better." -
Eastbourne V Birmingham Ko Cup 2nd Leg Sun 30th Oct

No I cant but its in black and white in the Eastbourne statement that I am taking to be true. As I have already stated. This is something that Eastbourne have stated and I see no reason for them not to be telling the truth. Perhaps you should ask them for the evidence. I have better things to do. -

The rulebook is crystal clear? You do know we are talking about the 'speedway' rule book dont you? And even if, as you say, it is crystal clear, there is such a thing as precedent. There have been, as the Eastbourne promotion agree, no less than five times this year that this has been waived in the NL. If it wasnt to be waived this time then Birmingham should have been given time to find a replacement. No this was timed to cause maximum damage to Birminghams hopes of getting the treble. Eastbourne say it wasnt them (and I have no reason to not believe them) so this must have come from on high. Have to say well done to Eastbourne. I dont think the inclusion of James Shanes would have changed the result but it would surely have made it closer. -
Brummies V Eastbourne Nl Grand Final 2nd Leg Wed 26th Oct
guitar_art replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
WHAT A NIGHT!!!! For those Eastie fans that were chanting to us on Sunday, and I quote: - "Who are you, who are you?" Well we are the League Champions, thats who. And anyway I have told you before, you are saying it wrong, please get it right. Its "Who are YOW" (With respect to George Gavin.) On another subject. Fed up of play offs? Fed up of the winning team over the regular season not getting any recognition? But there is nothing we can do I here you say. Well maybe, just maybe we can. Tune in tonight at 8 pm if you are curious sports-radio.co.uk -
