Can't see a topic created for this today so... MON THE PANTHERS
I really do think that the weather could well be the winner up there today though...think it could well be wet wet wet?
-
Morris awful choice of guest which cost us imo.
Expected more from MPT around Workington
Grondal after a slow start scored 6 which shows he's a quick learner
Ulrich and Josh superb apart from Josh's last in heat 1.
5 points from Konopka is an improvement
And like I said to you on Twitter, I could've told them that before they even asked him to guest
Forget Robert Lambert..Simon Lambert has been our man of the season and with him in the side we would have won tonight.
Can't argue with that!
-
Sums it up today, Glasgow using roynon at reserve, and we're stuck with stormy weathers!
And it was a good point last night, was never going to be more with Morris guesting for Simon
I could've told the Panthers promotion that before they went out and got Morris It's a shame for Ashley, but he really hasn't had a good season. After that injury he sustained at our track last year whilst riding for Wolves, it's probably dinted his confidence somewhat and understandably so.
-
Got to try and take a positive out of the situation Lukas. The injuries have made it a bit of a disaster (understatement!) but the promotion, generally speaking, have mostly got it right with the guests they have picked. To come away with a point from Workington last night was good going I thought.

Must be well populated in your part of the stand or elsewhere. I'm just glad that it's been mild on the whole because there are less and less people near me to keep the wind off!
As for the travellers; as Bratley said: "It has always concerned me that an inordinately high percentage of season ticket holders never had a Peterborough post code, this frankly, is shocking" - that extend to non-season ticket holders, just so you don't say that you're not one
The number of houses with potential paying customers close to the EoES has done nothing but grow for 30+ years whilst crowd numbers continued to dwindle. What's the answer? I've no idea, but a Frost, Mahoney, Bratley & Rathbone team would be my solution at one last attempt to successfully run at the EoES (I know that I should let it go Hodgy but green & Gold 'til the club is sold )
Oops, slightly drifting from the point but never miss an opportunity for a whinge!
As for the 4's, if they are not going to let Lambert & Grondal ride (which of course would involve flexible interpretation of the rules, and that's not what the BSPA do) then there must be better 4 out there that will enhance the tournament?
Well, I think the crowds have been better in comparison to last year anyway. A difference in view. You're the local and you've been going for longer than me, so you should know more than me on that front Who am I to argue?! I will be at the fours regardless of whether Peterborough take part or not. I sincerely hope they can feature, but that remains to be seen...

Sad, but true! Can't go into the fours with only Ostergaard and Palm Toft. With Simon Lambert and Blackbird both out more than likely and not being able to use Robert Lambert or Grøndal, I just cannot see how they can still remain in the line up. Konopka probably wouldn't be of much use! And that's of no disrespect to him. Even then, they're still a rider short! It does make sense though to have the home team in the event if possible, but its difficult to see Peterborough actually able to field any team never mind a competitive one.
I think the crowds have been better this year seeing as they moved to Sundays/Fridays. Racing on Tuesdays last year was a real problem. Middle of the week with fans having to work and most people travel a fair distance to get there. I'd consider myself a Panthers supporter now as much as a King's Lynn Stars supporter and I have an hour and a half drive to get there. Some come from even further afield if they've moved away! Tuesdays was a silly night. Friday and Sunday much better.Suppose it wont make much difference if the Panthers pull out of the fours as everyone seems to say they dont get many fans each week though the turnstiles anyway.
-
Don't think I will be bothering to make the trip now... Weather doesn't look great for Glasgow Sunday and it's an awfully long way to go just for one meeting! Think Workington should be OK to get their meeting on tomorrow. The weather doesn't look so bad there. If any other Panthers supporters are going to make the trip up, I hope they see something worth seeing! Although, one word about the guests on Saturday...will Josh still ride as apparently he had a crash last night?
-
Good job I didn't or I wouldn't have known who he was. I've just about got him sussed out when I see him at Peterborough now but it's taken a long while.
Ha! Stiltonpanther was standing with bigcatdiary at the pits one week a few months back. That's when I was introduced!
-
They didn't need to qualify, they're the hosts.
I thought they did needed to qualify in the same way that all the others have?
-
Strange choice Morris instead of Roynon as guest he must have other commitments
Yes I thought that. He's not been doing very well at Lynn this season and he's only just started scoring fairly well for Ipswich. Perhaps Redcar are racing somewhere on Saturday night? Not looked at the fixtures...
And now I'm kinda unsure as to whether I will make this northern tour or not I'm so undecided!

Broken shoulder blade according to the ET and wants to be back on 2 weeks
I'd say 2 weeks is being very optimistic myself But then again, I'm no doctor! What do I know?!
-
His Mrs was map reading and giving directions
Funny! Women can read maps you know...well, some of us can
Haza, apparently Kenni B was worth more than his score on Monday, didnt stop people saying he had to go.
Extremely fair comment! In all honesty, I don't suppose you could single Bjerre out from Monday's meeting as no one else really scored that well either, so yes, a fair point I think.

First Elite meeting I have been to for two years. Firstly would like to congratulate Buster on getting the track in a good condition as when we arrived it looked impossible. Really enjoyed the evenings racing. Zagar looked unbeatable at the beginning of the meeting. Impressed with Cook as well but Nichols had an off night. All of the stars put in a great effort. Roynon does seem to get involved in a lot of accidents. Stefan did well to get up from that.
Nice to see you away from "home"

I'd heard that Simon had broken his shoulder on the grapevine as well I was planning on going to Workington/Glasgow this weekend for the first time ever, but I'm unsure as to whether I will go now or not...
-
There is I'm afraid. 24th October 2012 here at King's Lynn when we hosted the Mildenhall v Dudley (Play-Off Final). Heat 15 saw the two riders involved in an incident with each other, which going from memory, Roynon either suffered a serious knee injury or broken leg, I can't remember which.
I was going to mention that! I was there! It caused no end of arguments in the crowd! Nielsen got a bit of stick I think from Dudley fans that night.

Would have to be a very dry sunny day for us to consider the 2000 mile round-trip from Wiltshire!
That's understandable! I've made it to Swindon twice now. But on both occasions the weather looked OK. And 2,000 miles?! I think it's more like 200. Tee hee!

1st and 2nd bends are good for viewing the action, grandstands good. bit of a walk for food tho if in the g/stand. dont believe the reports of us eating visitors etc. we dont do that, now. its more a case of hostages for ransom.. lol.
back straight shed is ok but not many go in there . hope its a good day for you.
forgot to say, 1 pound to park the donkey and cart. free programme. don't forget to buy a 50/50 draw ticket. you could win around 140 to 180 pounds . well worth a gamble.
welcome to wucky speedway marra !
Thanks for all that Never made it up there when King's Lynn were PL so figured I would attempt to take this meeting in and Glasgow the following day.

Planning on travelling up to Workington for this fixture. Never been to Workington before so it should be interesting I'd nothing else!
-
If only Queenie had visited and sat up there LOL! I'm unsure as to why it's called the Royal Box actually... Glad to be of service anyway!
Oh and Royal Box doesn't have a roof. It's exposed to the elements up there so just hope it doesn't rain!

May make visit up to KL end of next month to watch The Roobins...is there any seating as my bruv is disabled, or do we bring our own like we do at Blunsdon!?
Best places for food and drink around there...cheers.
There's an area in front of the home straight stand near the starting gate where people with disabilities can take wheelchairs or take seats into (I've seen people that aren't in wheelchairs take seats up there so I'm presuming it's OK if someone really does have a mobility issue).
As for food, there is the Pitstop Cafe at the stadium. On the Hardwick Industrial estate down the road there's Frankie & Benny's. Pizza Hut, KFC...all those kind of places to go into.
P.S. It costs £1 to go into the "Royal Box" Least that's what the price was when I last heard anyway...I don't think it's gone up but I wait to be corrected if I'm wrong. You don't have to book a seat in advance as far as I'm aware either.

Really hoping for good news on Simon! Has anyone heard anything?
-
Not surprised by the result. Belle Vue have a decent 1-7. And I think people are right to feel angry with how Kenneth is performing...he's supposed to be a second heatleader. How many meetings has he scored 10+ in this season? It can't be that many I wouldn't have thought? I think his issues are more psychological than anything though mind you.
-
Suspected dislocated shoulder is also what I've seen reported. If so, either way, he could be out for a few weeks. Hoping to hear better news! Sending Simon best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Seems like Lewis is riding at Belle Vue on the Monday, but Robert isn't, so perhaps it will be the same scenario for Wednesday's meeting?

I'm amazed Paulco! I thought the weather was supposed to be bad up there. That's what made me cancel the idea of travelling up as it's an awfully long way to go for just one meeting (Workington last night, as I really didn't think they'd get a meeting in at Glasgow today). I will make it across the border to Scotland at some point
