I have not read the Star as I live in Essex, but........ Maybe he should sign some riders that have the right attitude, then. Instead of moaning about the riders that moan about the track, get some riders that have the right mental approach, attack the track, and have a real desire to win. More Nico Covatti's please

No, I have not heard anything, apart from the snipits that are in the Grasstrack section - World Longtrack GP, thread - pages 6 & 7 - from post 81 onwards (if I knew how to do a link, I would), a couple of interesting comments (not mine) I think. I know Longtrack riders do not always do well at speedway. But I have seen him race at Marmande and he is very talented & fast. So I think he would be well worth taking a chance on. A world champion at reserve !!

Firstly, I do not think Danny King will up his average next season, but as he is being talked about a lot, as a rider for next season, I think he can do a good job as Ipswich No 1. He now has a lot of experience that he could pass onto the younger riders and would make a good Captain. Assuming that the team points limit stays at 42.50. I would like to see the following team, which I also think is achievable. Danny King 8.84 Captain Geno Manzares 6.02 Thomas Jorgensen 7.09 Cameron Heeps 5.38 Richie Worrall 7.32 Adam Ellis 4.67 Erik Riss 3.00 (I assume he would come in on 3.00. but I am not that well up on the rules ?) Total 42.32 Very hard on Ritchie Hawkins, who is a great captain and had a good year as a rider as well. Also hard on Rohan Tungate. But I feel that all the riders above (except, possibly Danny King) would improve thier averages.

I agree. He has been loyal to Ipswich and improved every year. But he is not yet an out & out No 1. If I remember correctly, at the beginning of the season Chris Louis said that he had got 3 year work visa's for Rohan & Cameron, at some expence, aswell. Does that mean that they can only race for the club that obtained the visa's ? As some others have said, I am also not convinced that Danny King will be the answer.

World Longtrack Gp

I have not been to Morizes yet. Hopefully one day I will. I actually prefer Marmande over Cardiff as I make it a mini holiday over 3 - 4 days and look forward to it every year. Should be able to make both next year as they are not on the same weekend. Flights for Marmande booked. -

I hope he does ride at Ipswich. As I am an Ipswich supporter and have seen Erik Riss race at Marmande. He is a great talent, very fast and spectacular to watch. I would also encourage everyone go to Marmande. A fantastic meeting at a great track with a brilliant atmosphere, with Bastille Day the next day. -
I agree with most of this, however, I think Heeps would benefit from a year away from Foxhall, but he is a proper racer and that is what we need more of. Also, Hawkins must be the rider of the season and should definatley stay.

I think the Ipswich team/s of the past few years have all underachieved. There have been some really good teams built, but have not gone on to do anything. What does that say ? Is there something lacking in the ambition & desire to win, at the club ? There is a lot to be said for loyalty to riders and I applaud that. But a successful team brings in supporters and breeds success. Be bold !!!!

I was thinking the same. If he can keep his confidence high, good luck to him, he deserves a good season. -

Peterborough V Ipswich Tues 10/06/14
iandean3 replied to hans fan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There are no meetings at Foxhall until 26th June, so there may be a few Ipswich supporters make the journey to this one. With the Witches doing better now, I can see it being a good meeting. Might make the trip myself. -
Ipswich Vs Peterborough Lc Good Friday April 18th 2.15pm

Most people have different views on incidents depending on who they support, also, what angle and view they have of the incident. I was at both meetings and I'm an Ipswich supporter. Fisher was guilty of very hard riding, but was slightly in front (by half a wheel) of Bach at the time. This was right in front of me. I did not have a good view of the Tungate incident, but it was obvious the referee was going to exclude him as he did not put the red lights on until the last second. I feel all four back would have been fair as from my bad view he got a bit of a shove. At Peterborough, I thought the ref got that right as Greenwood was leaning on Hawkins all the way down the straight, Hawkins was slightly in front from the exit of the forth turn, all the way into the first turn. The ref had a first class view of this incident from his box. I was on the home straight. I would like to add that I really enjoyed my first visit to the showground, great track and well prepared. It was also good to see Heeps starting to show that he can still race. -
Motor Cycle News Man Of The Year - Tai Woffinden

Great News. Well done Tai. -
Back to the topic of visa's ( I don't know if this has been said before, as all I can see is bank note posts). This whole visa issue is a good case for the BSPA to set the Team points limit a year in advance, then the teams could sign the riders early to avoid visa issues. Actually it would make a lot of sense to set all rules a year in advance so that teams could plan better for the future.

I expect the team to be announced this coming week, so that season tickets can be sold at the supporters club AGM. Just checked my cheque book stubs and I wrote out the cheque on 12-12-12, which if memory serves me correctly is where I paid last year.

I would like to see Nico Covatti in the 2014 team. He was very fast in the 16 lapper, considering he has not ridden Ipswich before. He was very entertaining as well.

As you well know Jonny, the promoters only have to take a look at Marmande on the 12 July every year. They will see how to create a fantastic atmosphere and draw in a big crowd. I've been for the last 5 years and will be going again this year. Best meeting of the year, anywhere. I know it is Longtrack but the way it is presented could work for speedway.
