  1. Change of ownership is a shock. Going up not so much of a surprise, probably the right thing for the club.

We can maybe look forward to a friendly (?) meeting against Lynn to start the season......

Same main sponsor for both Ipswich & Kings Lynn this year, what about next year ?

  2. From the article

"Belle Vue Speedway 2017 Ltd, which took over the running of the club last year, are a new company who inherited a difficult position following the failure of the original speedway franchise but are demonstrating real progress - off and on the track - and have a clear business plan setting out how they will continue to build on these improvements.”

How often do you see these words associated with speedway ?

King - looks fast but doesn’t know how to team ride.

Hartel - looks ok should achieve at least a 5 average.

Schlein - looks good should be riding at 5

Heeps - A bit better tonight but still needs to improve his gating as there is no outside line at Foxhall at the mo

Covatti - Needs to be protected by riding at 3 or 4

Mountain - Needs to improve around Foxhall, he’s been here long enough now

Hume - A bit better tonight, got in Heeps’ way in heat 14 but on the positive he stayed on his bike tonight and was practicing after the meeting

Hawkins - has not impressed so far, got riding order wrong, doesn’t seem to have the ability to inspire the team maybe he’s to matey matey with the riders.

It needs to change soon or it will be a hard rut to get out of......

Spot on post. That is how I see it.

  4. Ipswich have always had 7.30 parade with first race 7.45

Heat winners invariably have a lap of honour and interaction with the fans has increased greatly over the last couple of seasons

Meetings are often done by 9.15 and rarely go beyond 9.30 unless there is an understandable issue

There is a lot done right at Foxhall and every effort appears to be in mind to improve any areas not currently seen as top notch

Agree, just need the PA system sorted as well.

  5. Last night had....

Great crowd but thought there would have been many more away fans being a Saturday night victory within touch.

Decent racing but that's more down to 2 evenly matched sides, Well done Sheffield..rather than what you would see against a team not bothered (Peterborough A fixture to name just 1)

A little bit of early controversy to get the fans "interacting"

If only more meetings could be like that...

However what was disappointing was the reaction by many new fans to the night. Spoke to a few and all said the same.

    "what was going on."

1.both teams have same colours so hard to see who was who. Helmet colours.. What?

2.didnt know score as nothing was explained (eg 3 2 1 0) and scoreboard was hard to see.

    3. Most importantly the PA system was yet again was told that Kevin Long had been replaced and Craig Saul was on the Mic. Didn't matter as didn't hear what was he was saying.

This needs sorting and to repeat what I've said in the past is a health and safety issue. The biggest crowd for years and if anything had happened in the stadium the public would not have been given clear instructions on what to do.

    Oh well always next year......

Ps. After their crashes hope both Kyle and Nathan ok. Along with Cam they should be 1st 3 names on any team sheet

This has been going on far far too long. The PA system really has got to be sorted out. It is so bad, that it is really affecting my enjoyment at Foxhall.

  6. Congratulations to Sheffield, they were the better team. Cameron Heeps is always a joy to watch and well deserved Man Of The Match.

I also booed Scott, as he did take Nathen off, I think it was a racing incident and not dirty, but he was at fault. I do not think that the ref would of been able to see it at all because of where the tractors are parked on he centre green. I think the booing latter in he meeting was more in jest and think Scott took it in that way. I would still like to see Scott as a Witch next year.

  7. I enjoyed the meeting (that is something that I have not been able to say this season). Some good racing and a good result, with the whole team looking on the pace. But the best thing was the atmosphere was very good. I think it was a combination of, a bigger crowd with the kids, the mastiff with their enthusiasm, a good presenter interacting with the crowd, the riders (Witches) enjoying themselves and the passion of Danny Ayres.

Well done everyone, keep it going.

  8. I think his problem is the same as his dad's, both to loyal to under performing riders. Rider changes don't happen quick enough or often enough.

I agree, but I also wonder if there is a real, determined attitude to win from the management. Look at all the consistantly succesful teams, they have the right attitude / approach to motivate the team and win.

  9. Probably......... but we could still make it, maybe ?

First two names ... Nico Covatti & Danny King and build the team around them.

Some of the others would be better riders if they had a year away from Foxhall.

After he's recent performances at Ipswich Richie Worrall now looks really good here. A very good top three, might not be enough points left thought ?

Just woke up, wishfull dreaming !!!!!!

  10. I agree with Super Blue's post.

But, about the track, is it being prepared grippy to get the team able to ride that type of track as they have had problems with grippy tracks before.

Also, the racing should be better with some grip in the track, so it may be prepared like that with the intention of giving the spectators a better meeting to watch.

Another problem is that the Ipswich team are not able to practice on the track, which is a big problem when track conditions are not consistent.

    Just some thoughts.

  11. Yes I agree, I am not saying sack them now, but think about a riders attitude and strength of will, when building the team. I would also add entertainment value as well, after all that is what gets the people to come and watch.

I think this team could still be a very good team & hope they learn from their mistakes.
