    Swedes Off The Mark

    That is not true.
  2. Rob, I will be totally honest with you, I wasn't aware of Kenny's sad passing until I got back home after the event and I have to say it took the shine off the day for me personally. I dare say many or all of the people working at the stadium all day long to put the event on, were not aware either. Had we (Peterborough) known, we would have asked the organisers to hold a minutes silence, but I am unsure whether they would have done. However, Peterborough will be holding a minutes silence in Kenny's memory at our next home match against Wolves this coming Thursday.

    Mr Kieth Chapman

That is not correct. Dick Greer is and always has/will be an integral part of the Peterborough trackstaff.

  6. Please spread the word! British GP - Unique Experience - Proceeds to Garry Stead Benefit Fund
  7. Here's some info on the winner.... Peterborough Speedway Press Release PR53/07 Date – 28/06/07 Fraser MacDonald joins the Hans Andersen Pit Crew at The British GP Glasgow Tigers fan and Main Sponsor Fraser MacDonald won the Hans Andersen e bay auction to be part of his pit crew for the British GP in dramatic style last night with a magnificent winning bid of £1650. Hans had kindly offered the chance to anyone with all proceeds going to support the Garry Stead Benefit Fund set up after Garry’s bad accident. Fraser at 47 is the owner of FSM Outdoor Advertising and the company are the main sponsors this year of the Glasgow Tigers and Glasgow’s No 1 Shane Parker. Fraser is a regular at the British GP and was in Cardiff last year just before the event started, when he felt chest pains and was rushed to Cardiff University Hospital where he was diagnosed as having suffered a heart attack. So this year when he saw, as he put the chance of a lifetime he went for it. And in true e bay fashion he admits to putting a sizeable bid in just before the auction finished. Fraser MacDonald said; “After the problems of last year and the wonderful treatment I received that saved my life, I thought what a great cause this was and I am really pleased to be able to help Garry Stead in this way, I made up my mind I was going to have it, as this opportunity only arises once in a lifetime. I have never met Hans Andersen but I am a member of the Stars Anniversary Speedway, which supports Glasgow Speedway and although I wasn’t at the awards last year when Hans was the guest, I heard very good reports on him. I can honestly say I am really looking forward to Saturday”. Hans Andersen said; "I am staggered at the press coverage the auction has received, hopefully this will put Garry's fund raising activities in the limelight. The auction raising £1650 is absolutely fantastic, it is a wonderful gesture by the winner, and we will make sure he has a day to remember" Fraser is flying down from Edinburgh to Cardiff on Friday, so he can enjoy and saviour the whole weekend, and has promised to write a article on his experience for the Peterborough E Zine On the Gas in the future.
  8. It's great when people don't know when to stop digging......
  9. I think it was about £600 the person who won it has become a good friend of ours.
  10. At this point, I'll fetch my coat.
  11. Girls...behave yourselves
  12. Can't see the appeal myself
  13. We did something similar in 2005 for the family of Steve Cooper who was an ex-professional footballer, who was something of a local legend. We were talking about that (the last time Hans rode at Cardiff) and just thought why not do it again for Garry Stead.
  14. You surely wouldn't want to?
  15. Thanks to everyone who has been keeping this topic current. Looks like the closing stages at 22:00 tonight will be very interesting, there is currently 266 "watchers" so it could be fun.
