  1. I do kind of get what you are saying. And I am certainly pro GP. We couldnt go back to one off World finals now. However I dont agree with all your comments. Since the last one off in '94, digital TV has meant there are many more channels so I believe the qualifiers and final would definately be covered on TV. Also the qualifiers would not be meanigless as they would be a steppingstone to a riders ultimate goal of a world championship. I can rememebr the British, Commonwealth & Overseas finals of the early 90's they were superb meetings. And the World semi final at Bradford in 94 was a absolute classic. And if you look at the last few years, it was only the 93 final that was in a crap stadium - still a decent sized crowd tho. The GP's are great, I really enjoy them (except my journey to germany on Saturday!) But they have some problems they really need to iron out.
  2. Ah yea I remeber that now.. The whole thing stinks & as far as I can see they have got away with this far too easily. JP for all his sins, at least faced the cameras after the Gothenburg fiasco.
  3. Just got back in, still slightly livid but tried to make the best of a bad situation. Being in Hooters with a ridiculous sized mug of beer, gawping at the birds in there till 5 in the morning, slighlty numbed the pain! There are too many coincidences for me not to think it was canceled on Purpose. I know this forum has it's fair amout of BS on it, but this time there is a lot of sense being spoke. The fact that an alt venue was decided so quickly, is the final bit of evidence I need. I'll still go to these GP's (more fool me) but I love the GP's & love going to places I otherwise wouldnt. On a different note, watching the Darts, Dave Lanning has to start covering Speedway again. Also, what shall we call next weekends GP? Few suggestions: Polish GP part 3 50 odd years ago, would have been German GP The T Gollob Testimonial
  4. Not a misery, just a wallyish comment matey.. Didnt mean to have a go I know you were only messing..
  5. Stupid comment mate.. I hope the Poles boycott next week and Old man Olsen gets the sack. Heads have to role for this.
  6. Im sitting here in Germany now and I must say I fully agree with you. there is no way that they did all they could to have put this meeting on. I have been to more than one meeting where it was tipping down and they relayed a brand new track in under 3 hours... Its an absolute disgrace. Olsen HAS to go. Its bright sunshine here. They wonder why peolpe think speedway is a 2 bob sport. This is the equivilent of a world cup final and they call it off today.. Should have been at leat, at the very least yesterday it was called off. I hope Bellamy, Olsen and the rest of the muppets hang their heads in shame. The pieces of paper they were handing out to explain why it was off was the biggest kop out I have ever seen. Lefy the poor German stadium staff, who really had no idea, to face the p!ssed off fans. Disgrace. Rant over, Tex
  7. Not to be a sqaure but the $ is a lot stronger against the £ then this times last year. AJ probably got about £50K for his $100K last year The winner this year this year will get close to £70k for his $120k...
  8. Was brought up in Oz & won PLRC at Sheffield.. Dont think big tracks hold any fears for him.
  9. Tks.. A little weird he would do that. Well maybe a reality check might be good in the long run. But to be fair he has done nothing to suggest that he believes his own hype. Seems quite grounded.
  10. I see where you are comming from but I think most people would agree Tai is better then both of them. My original post was just asking why he had such a bad day..
  11. Outscored them in qualification in the competiton the year this year. Plus performances in senior British final, world cup etc.
  12. Now now people let's all calm it a little Can anyone answer as to why Tai had such a bad day at the office? Cos one thing is for sure, he certainly should be scoring more points then Willy Lawson & Bridger. Was it engine probs or the occasion getting to him? Any insider info?

    Janniro Wins U.s Title

I think you should tell him that yourself - in person.

    Janniro Wins U.s Title

I think it's more insulting to call someone a joke than it is to miss spell their name - my apologies for that, I work in the city & it's a little manic right now. You seem to not want to answer the question of whether or not Colin Pratt is a good judge of a rider and have also ignored that he has been an integral part of a Coventry team that has won many trophies in the last few years. If you were to say that he hasn't reached his potential, then I would at least think you had a sensible argument. But you, sensible wasn't going to happen was it petal.

    Janniro Wins U.s Title

Greg & Billy both didnt ride this year, so it was a weakend field... I do appreciate what you are saying but to address Janiro as a joke is just insulting. Going off track a bit, the yanks are struggling at the moment but these things tend to go in cycles. There was a time in the 90's when they took over from the Danes & were winning eveything & the Aussies were very much struggling to compete on the world stage, Poles were pretty much non existant & the Brits were, well the Brits... At the moment it's the Danes, Poles & Aussies are the dominant forces, but you never know what the future holds.

    Janniro Wins U.s Title

Please tell me how he is a joke? I see Billy J, tho not a world beater, a good team man & consistant Elite league performer. If he was that much of a joke he wouldnt be brought back into Coventry's team every year, helping them to win league titles and cup competitions. Are you suggesting Colin Pratt doesn't have an idea of which riders are good and which are, as you put it, a 'joke'

    Russian League

What Western riders are in the Vladivostok team? And what night do they race? Im moving to Tokyo soon & I think that might be my only route to watching league Speedway!

    Gp Challenge

Is it 20 heats and then a final again like in previous years? I remember a few years ago PK coming 4th in the final & missing out even though he top scored in the meeting. Though that was very harsh.
  21. My apologies, I wasn't trying to rile anyone, I just mean Dryml has been a wee bit of a wasted place this year.. as has KK and many others in years gone by.
  22. I'd also like to see top 8 from this year qualify for next & the old GP challenge with the bottom 8 plus 8 qualifiers trying to get into next year. Also I would like to see after round 2, the bottom 2 riders taken out of the GP and replaced with 2 form riders. Would get rid of watsers like Dryml making up the numbers.
