    Iow V Young Stars 23/07

Do you mean Robert wants to go EL next year with Lynn himself, or you think he should? Personally, I hope he doesn't.
  2. As far as I'm aware, King's Lynn v Isle of Wight is still going ahead tomorrow at 7.30pm. (Though this doesn't appear on King's Lynns website...!) Any idea on line-ups? I'm sure confirmation of whether or not Robert Lambert is riding might get a few more people in, though after the World Cup yesterday I fear this may be a sparser than ever crowd!
  3. He tweeted on 6 Jul 'No riding for me for 2 weeks cracked a Rib at the shoulder and torn ligaments in shoulder'. He guested for Somerset on 5 July, not sure if he fell during this meeting? Just a guess! Also note Stevie Worrall has been signed by Redcar in the Premier League on a 28 day contract for Dilger, first meeting tomorrow.
  4. I assume the comments were directed at Triple B's rather than me... but yes, that was the point I was making. Seen this on the KL Young Stars Facebook today: YOUNG STARS 1 Stevie Worrall 2 Lewis Rose R/R 3 Darren Mallett 4 Shane Waldron 5 Lewi Kerr 6 Shane Hazelden 7 Robert Lambert TEAM MANAGER ROB LYON I.O.W 1 Rob Branford (G) 2 Danny Stoneman R/R 3 Ben Hopwood 4 Darryl Ritchings 5 Paul Starke (G) 6 Adam Ellis 7 Chris Widman
  5. Whatever Team GB perform like (hopefully better than we expect), I'm looking forward to this. Will be a good night of speedway, hopefully with one of the best atmospheres Lynn gets all season!

Speedway On Itv The Motorbike Show

Too bad I'll still be at speedway at that time. All good, though.
  7. To clarify for any who were confused as I was this morning, it transpires this morning that King's Lynn v IOW is on 17th July... not next Wednesday as announced at the track last night. I assume we don't have a meeting next Wednesday, but who can tell.
  8. Look forward to this; just hope the weather remembers its summer!
  9. Still debating whether or not to go to this one. Such a shame Lewis got injured last night.

    £10 Sport?

Out of interest, when promotions have been run by clubs reducing meetings to £10 or the like, what has been the effect on crowds? Was it a sufficient increase in numbers to cover the lost revenue from the price reduction? Yup, marketing. You can reduce the price of the product, but if you don't target the likely market, it won't help over much.. Particularly with the amount of competition in the leisure industry in light of the recession (and so on, so forth). As to what the current level of marketing is both overall and club specific, I guess that varies. But then that IS another cost... I didn't see a poll for if people agree or not to get that statistic Without wanting to dishearten anyone, we can agree, disagree and discuss all we want about it... but are any of in a position to actually change anything? If the cost of the product can be trimmed. Unless there is something agreed prior to season, there isn't over much that can be trimmed I wouldn't have thought (looking from outside) - one team could sign cheaper riders and not go for the expensive ones and have to deal with flights etc, for example. But if every other team decides to spend more and this leads to that team being uncompetitive... well, catch 22 situation. It's very easy to say costs need to be cut. In reality for any business, it's not always so easy. And without seeing exact figures.... and knowing what goes where, it's even more difficult to judge! Just on this idea - would you, as a home fan, be happy for away fans to get in cheaper? That could result in a loss of loyal home fans.. Perhaps this is because there is no simple solution, and the majority of people reading this will not have access to the type of financial data to be able to suggest a solution. You can't suggest how a business cuts costs / becomes more viable without seeing what is spent on what area's etc - put simply, we don't know what costs what and how the books stand, so we can't try to improve them. Overheads are an issue. How do you reduce them? If an increase in wages led to an increase in costs (which doesn't consider many other factors including price rises probably across the board affecting parts etc), then a new market equilibrium was reached. How do you propose a lower market equilibrium is reached? Demand isn't likely to change... and as many riders prefer established engine tuners, neither is supply... This would depend on what deals riders get. Do they pay for their own mechanics including the cleaning and transportation of their own bikes anyway? All varies on the deal and the club I'd suspect... Again, without knowing exactly how things are done, it's hard to plan how things can be improved. There are so many possible angles.... and we're working on so little information!

    Promotion From The National League.

I don't think it's promotion per say... there is no automatic promotion from NL to PL as there would be in a sport like football. I think it's just a case of in winter the club apply to join the Premier League, and that application is then reviewed based on several factors, possibly including financial / the number of teams already in the league, etc. I may not be 100% right, but I think that may be the gist of it?

    Kent Kings V Iow 13/5/13

Ouch, that makes it very difficult. Did they consider weekends or was that not permitted in the planning permission?
  22. Sorry if it's mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but is this meeting on Sky?

How long will James Cockle be out for? Will King's Lynn run R/R or sign a replacement?

    Leicester Lions 2013

Sorry to crash a 'who should be signed' topic, but I've yet to visit Leicester. Looking at coming over for a meeting this year - can Leicester fans suggest any meetings that are looking particularly good for a neutral to visit?

    Kent Kings V Iow 13/5/13

Is it going to be 6.30pm every week at Kent? I haven't read/looked at too much about it, being so far away anyway. Does seem a bit of an early start for a weekday evening
