  1. I should imagine it starts at 1pm, it usually does. We never start at 4pm.
  2. Has the wildcard for this Grand Prix been announced yet?
  3. And Leigh Lanham and Emil Kramer, I guess you can add some of the Newport guys to that list too.
  4. Great watching the youngsters really racing the track today, look forward to seeing some of them back at Newport soon if possible.
  5. Looking forward to seeing the young lads out in this meeting especially Grant Tregoing, Ricky Wells and Shelby Rutherford. A good in house meeting for the Newport supporters to watch. I wonder if a couple of the young lads can beat the more experienced guys.
  6. Mark Lemons Testimonial was announced at Newport today for Friday July 10th. Jason Crump is already confirmed for the night and invitations have gone out to Leigh Adams and Chris Holder amongst others. Sounds like it's going to be a fantastic nights racing.
  7. Newport begin the new era with an Individual meeting on Sunday March 15th. Riders lined up to ride are... All the Wasps, Craig Watson, Nick Simmons, Mark Lemon, Chris Kerr, Jordan Frampton, Brent Werner and James Holder. Alongside these riders are Nicolai Klindt, David Howe, Kevin Doolan, Paul Fry, Emil Kramer and probably more I've forgotten! Should be a great day for all the Newport Supporters who have waited for the new era to begin and to also put to rest the old era by paying our respects to Tim Stone.
  8. A huge amount of work has taken place to the track and they have put on loads of new shale as someone said it's a new track and it will take time to bed in. It couldn't of been that bad because Mads Korneliussen recorded a time of just over 59 seconds. Ben Barker was riding his guts out to pass people.
  9. Mentioned on the hotline that its a broken leg, to be fare we were kept up to date with Watos condition during the wait. Nice touch from Kevin Doolan when he was on the rostrum was to remember his friend Ashley Jones who started his racing days off at Newport.
  10. Broken left femur apparently they were saying at the track - awful news for the Wasps but even worse for Wato in what was supposed to be his testimonial year. He had been absolutely flying today by far the top rider out there and his average of just over 6 was shot to pieces with 9 points from 3 rides. Devastating news, for everyone but most of all for him he had been so well up for it today and this season, a very proud man to be Captain of the Wasps and doing it for his good friends the Malletts. Gutted. Mads withdrew with mechanical problems and Jason Doyle had a shoulder injury.
  11. The sun is shining here in South Wales it's an absolutely gorgeous day. Great to get the track back up and running - I'm hoping for a Newport winner
  12. Thought you did. It's there for everyone to see now, so no excuses!
  13. Taken from the official website...enjoy the meeting Sandie, see you in the bar! 'NP19 4SZ How To Get There From the M4 (eastbound or westbound), turn off at Junction 24 (the Coldra) and get onto the A455 and look for signposts to Newport Dock's. Keep following the dual carriageway over all roundabouts, until you eventually get to the Tesco's petrol station, take your first left after that and follow signs to Newport Speedway. It is approximately a 5 minute car journey from the M4 motorway.'
  14. Can't believe that by this time tomorrow we would of had our first meeting under our new promoters. I'd like to wish the whole of the Mallett family thats the three generations the best of luck for tomorrow and I hope it all runs smoothly for them, I know its going to be awesome. Big changes to the track and with the airfence and improved facilities at the track I hope the fans flood back for them, best of luck Steve and Nick you deserve it
  15. That is for just this meeting I believe, different price for Wasps meetings.
  16. Thanks Shawn, there is always one clever dick isn't there. Newport Press and Practise was on Friday afternoon by the way did that beat the Rye House one, Saturday wasn't it?
  17. I guess this makes the Prince of Wales Trophy the first speedway action of the season
  18. My advice would be to get a taxi from the train station, it will take you directly to the track. On a Sunday the buses are few are far between and there will be a walk involved to get to the track. A taxi would be much easier.
  19. Why would we say that. Phil was a former rider at Newport and respected by the Newport fans. I think it was just a chance for you to have a jibe at the Newport team. The Newport supporters have no say in who rides in the meeting.
  20. This is also going to be the relaunch for the new promotion so it'll be interesting to see if the old faces make a steady return to the Stadium. There has been lots of rumours that people are coming back and that people that have never been are coming to see and even changes of alligance so should be a good day on the 15th.
  21. Thats a really nice sentiment, I know there were doubts over whether they would be able to ride or not. I'm really looking forward to this meeting which will be the end of the old era and the beginning of the new. A time to look back and appreciate what Tim Stone brought to Newport and a time to look forward to better times ahead.
  22. Can add Newport favourite Chris Schramm to that list too.
  23. And there it is in a nutshell, let the promoters get on with their jobs. They obviously know what's going on and are quite happy with the situation.
  24. For anyone who's interested there is a Premier Travel Inn/Lodge being built opposite Newport train station, should be ready by the next Cardiff Grand Prix.
