  1. Rode at Newport last season in the Welsh Open I think and did well, enjoyed his time at Newport immensly and I think is probably looking for a team place next season. Most memorable moment was probably when he crashed and planted his head into the pit gate, most people thought he would be seriously injured but he ended up walking away from the crash.
  2. Two really competitive names added to the line up, who's next?
  3. Gotta stick up for the track again, we want the best possible crowd there and if people think they are going to get smothered then it might deter them. The track for the Winter Warmer meeting was excellent and this NYC meeting will probably be the best for a long time racing surface wise. It's always cold and people know to wrap up warm and come expecting anything. With David Howe and Chris Haris already booked for the meeting it is guaranteed to have fantastic racing. They both ride to win. I'm really looking forward to this one.
  4. And if the track is anything like it was on Sunday then it'll be some great racing. Dixie has done a great job with the track

I notice that Tom Hedleys brother rode in the Victorian State Titles, any news on how Tom is? He had quite a nasty injury up at Sheffield towards the end of the season, along with the shoulder injury he was already carrying.

I echo your sentiments SCB what a fantastic talent and entertainer Scott Smith was a real untapped talent as far as British Speedway was concerned. We want Smithy!!

So looking forward to seeing Craig ride, hope he's fit and well for Sunday because there will be lots of fans there cheering him on....C'mon Watooooooo
  11. Tom Hedley should be in this one for the Aussies?

Some very good racing in this meeting. How Chris Holder managed to stay on his bike and then go on to win the race is a miracle! Fabulous racing from him.
  13. Great idea, should of had the Pairs at Newport. For anyone who hasn't been this season the track is much improved. At last the 3rd and 4th bends seem to have been sorted out and the later start time means that the dust stays down more. We've held the Pairs at Newport previously, would be great to see it back there again.

Watoooooooooo!!! Back at Newport where he belongs, well for one afternoon only I'm glad to see that at least Tim Stone has invited Craig along for this meeting. Only wish that he could of got his accolades that he deserved at the Celebration Meeting last month.
  15. Shame his mate Emil didn't do quite so well. What happened to him in his last ride?
  16. Good to see Wato putting in a good score

Latest news on this meeting today is that Tim Stone is looking to bring in a GP rider to ride in this meeting, any guesses? Could be Chris Harris?

Even though it's what most Newport supporters would dearly like to see - Craig Watson racing around his own track - I think our efforts would be in vain. I don't think we'd be able to budge anyone on this one.

    Welsh Open

Nothing ever gets advertised at Newport!! But the Welsh Open is sure to be a good one now that we have lost out Friday night. Hopefully Michal will be a good match to David Howe when he returns to defend his trophy.
  24. In the local paper today there is quite a good sized article on how Tim Stone is looking to put on a 10th anniversary meeting at Newport this season. He wants to invite lots of former riders and is hoping to get Anders Henriksson over for the meeting. The likely date is May 6th. Theres also some fixture dates in there the Scottish Meetings are provisionally 14th and 15th June. And the Birmingham Knock Out Cup matches are provisionally April 25th up there and the return on the following Sunday at Newport.
