Spot On, not sure why everyone claims there is mass cheating. At least a dozen riders have passed tests so far, so even if it was a fair sample it would be less than 10%. What silencer-gate will lead to it accusations of cheating on silencers, then carbs, then engines....it will be a vicious circle that will kill the "sport". Finger pointing and sour grapes. I agree with the riders who want long bans. It will be the only way to get a message across. The defence of Kennett, blame the mechanic, is akin to Marion Jones, Dwain Chambers etc... claiming that the coach never told them about Balco. The further "defence" or reasoning, claim everyone is at it, is akin to the Tour de France. Cheating in any form has to be stamped out.

I am not sure why either 3 of you could not criticise my opinions on Kennett and silencer gate. Perhaps you cannot defend the indefensible. I am really disappointed in the failure to reply with Speedway comments. I will stick to Speedway rather than personal insults. Oh, and for the record, I think Kennett should still be banned for 2011, and his records expunged with the league altered, unless Coventry or Kennett can prove otherwise (eg. when he switched supplier it happened). He has tainted the league, its integrity and most of all encouraged sour grapes when a so called lesser rider makes great strides and puts in some stellar performances. He wasn't going to be at Coventry in 2012 anyway. Harris n Emil in my opinion.

Whilst I realising I should just ignore you and Home Straight on the personal BS (hence why I have continued contributing speedway opinions in the post prior to the one you quoted), I feel you and HS constantly overstep the mark. At least Steve Shovlar has speedway opinions. Like your comments to others (and not me on 2nd Aug). I am happy to continue on another thread away from Speedway threads to enable other readers to see the comments on speedway.

Absolutely. So will KK join Leon Madsen and Eddie Kennett in blaming the mechanic? Like the comments on twitter from the likes of Hans Andersen, Scott Nicholls, Howe, Watt, Bridger and Johns. I don't think fellow riders will be letting this go somehow, and that can only be good for the integrity of the sport. Unfortunately, it does taint two of the EL Champions from last year - although they won that 'clean' as far as we know. I also see that riders and people here are now questioning how long KK has been at it, and that is my point about Kennett telling all....if no-one is going to say how many matches were unfair, and a few more riders get caught, 2011 will be a farce year; up there with the solid block tyres 15 years ago. In the words of Scott Nicholls, "@davidhoweracing it's a joke. Thing is now all riders that weren't quick but now are will have fingers pointed.wonder how many are cheating!" and Rory Schlein, "RorySchlein3 Rory Schlein @ @DavidWatt24 KK I new I should iv protested last night" They are both right, the integrity will not be on the one or two riders that are caught, it will be the sour grapes, finger pointing, when riders improve until you get a scenario when "everyones at it" then it stops becoming a sport. Chance to nip it in the bud, healthy fines, decent bans until start of 2012. Of course, Coventry won't sack him, he remains an asset. Many riders have been "sacked" but remain assets. Doesn't necessarily imply they will use him.

Then tell me which of the "demands" would NOT help the integrity of the sport? They weren´t demands either. Why a mechanic would do this of his own accord? How many riders of the 40 or so EL full time riders would you think DO NOT know their own set ups? Simply put, if one gets away with blaming a mechanic, many riders can do the same until caught. Did Leon Madsen start the trend?

That is my view and I am entitled to it. Please tell me why I am not, for me it is relevant to the integrity of the sport. I do not believe he did not know about it, so if he can be honest and get his results corrected for the integrity of the competition and the fairness to other riders who rely on speedway for earnings then the sport. Oh, and I am a Coventry supporter, so it isn´t about the play-offs. I want to see the best 4 teams in there, on a level playing field. If Coventry aren´t good enough, I don´t want them cheating to get in. You will see that this stand in entirely consistent with my view on average manipulation, assessed or otherwise (engine failure reduced). FIM, however, set a precedent for cheating with Madsen. Didn´t he get away with blaming a mechanic. Yes. However, he wants to personalise at every opportunity. I cannot have an opinion, it is irrelevant to Eddie and him. So I shall not comment on the topic any further.

Great decision to put him in. Deserves it, and should get a full year next year hopefully.

If anything sums you up, it was you starting a thread entitled "Shovy" calling on him to contribute around 5pm. Good to see it, quite right in my opinion, got deleted. I am with the "mechanics" on this. Perhaps if you know the inner thoughts of Kennett, you´d share them with us? Thought not.

Jumping to conclusions again. Since you ask How do you know that Ed Kennett doesn't give a shiny shoot what fans think...? His statement suggests he might, "I wish to state my deep regret and offer my sincere apologies to the fans", far more than he does not! I will never accept that he had no idea, but I will accept his remorse, apologies and regret and his opinions on cheating. Until he 'fesses up, then no, I think these are words of no meaning. That is his statement, right? You believe it? Has he really sacked a mechanic from his employment? You really believe that he knew nothing about it?

At no point does he say that he was unaware of "how long" it has been going on for. You really offer some poor defence for him. He was unaware that his silencer has been tampered with, and for me, it is carefully worded to suggest it may have been a one off. If a rider sits on the panel that decides his ban, he will get the book thrown at him. His statement makes Bridger look like Einstein, and further treats the paying public with contempt. I know that there are riders that are technical with equipment, and riders that are not, but to not know and to ride equipment that has been tampered. Never. When he sits down and thinks about it, he will know. Are you honestly saying that Kennett never discussed silencer set up when he switched from supplier. If so, he must be the the least intelligent rider in speedway, after all he pays for the mechanics and equipment. Playing dumb doesn't work, he must be taking lessons off one or two on this forum. He seems quite technically minded when on Sky or speaking to other riders. Maybe that was just an act. If he cannot be honest, the SCB should expunge his results from the day that he switched and fine him for all points earning in League racing since that date. Alternatively, the entire length of 2011. I am sure his memory and recollection would change. I would re-distribute the fine amongst riders he beat, if it is set to these high levels. If you are telling me, and I believe you are a "stirrer" rather than a "defender", that Kennett was unaware of what he was on - equipment wise, then he is a danger to any rider on a track. No different to an athlete getting a substance from a coach, someone else packing your bags for your trip to Venezuela or even Danny Bird. You need to know your equipment and body as a professional sportsman. Finally, if I was a rider and I see Kennett get, say a 28 day ban and small fine, why not take the risk to fire in some maximums, then play DUMB and blame the mechanic. For these reasons, his ban should be for at least the remainder of the year. Now, who should I start to believe in these matters, Scott Nicholls, Hans Andersen on twitter or Impartial One. They call for at least 1 year! Wonder if his next statement will be, "Someone cut my brakes too".

Fantastic Reaction, little sensitive aren´t you. You try to smear promotions and riders with your in-the-know attitude, similar to your tripe over the winter. Cannot find it right now, but you did say stuff like, "if the unusual burn mark´s on Pawlicki´s silencer mean what people think they mean, oh dear big trouble", and earlier today, "there is more to come". Clearly not for Pawlicki. You claim Pawlicki had a dodgy silencer, this can categorically been ruled out. He was tested, and passed. Don´t let the facts get in the way of your rants though.

Totally agree with you. He will know how long this has gone on for, and needs to get honest with the authorities, and with other riders if he is to be trusted again.

Well, what a surprise, "Blame the Mechanic". Come on. If it is a light punishment, there will be lots of "mechanics" to be blamed and sacked if you can score £10k + before a rider is caught. To all those that say they want a light touch given (Alan Boon et al), you cannot disagree: If Edward Kennett wants me to believe this story, then HE MUST NAME ALL MATCHES RIDDEN UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. Then, and only, then will I accept his statement. I would want all pay docking for these meetings, along with points with results changed. Re-distribute his points money to riders that have lost out. I see Pawlicki has his silencer back, wonder if Custer Mouse will apologise now, or is it more likely Kennett to come clean.

I think from Coventry's statement it is not a case of "falling apart". It has been rumoured or alluded to all season. I am told the difference would be audible. Either way a rider is responsible for his equipment that he sits on. Cannot blame others.
