    Dreadlock Danger?

The rules actually state that hair should be kept within the race suit, but no-one seems to enforce it. I help an old-fashioned rider who has hair down his back; it flows out while he is riding, and nobody has said anything except for an announcer who compared him to Adam Skornicki!
  2. Also, I suppose, it is getting yourself known. I have been helping a new rider on this list who says he will ride for any team, and has impressed any team manager who has seen him. But he still needs more rides ...
  3. There are 53 riders in the list above. While the top 4 or 5 riders should probably not be in the MDL, there should still be plenty of riders for the ten teams? It is a fact that some riders are getting too many rides, and some not enough.

    Birmingham Brummies 2015

IIRC the surname was a coincidence ... she was originally Finn's girlfriend but had the sense to take up with Hans! I may be wrong, of course. Hayley will be riding in the amateur match at Scunthorpe tomorrow, along with another girl rider, Francesca Kirtley-Paine.

Wasn't it Suzanne? Girlfriend of Hans of that ilk?

    Who Is.

    You have evidence?

    Theft

No chance - two speedway bikes are quite a weight in scrap metal.
  8. Moving up to the EL was a disaster for Birmingham (twice - same in 1976) so Kent would be very ill-advised to repeat this.
  9. He told me that he was born in Poland but he seems to live in this country now. There seems to be far too many NL riders in these two teams ...
  10. Chris Holder warned Chris Bambury that the track was very slippery - and it was! Chris B pulled off the best overtake of the night, past two riders, but then slid off; another rider hit him. Chris rode in his next heat in considerable pain; it was thought that he had fractured his arm, but a check-up in hospital later on showed that it was just severe bruising.

    Stoke's 5-year Plan

I was faced with someone telling me that they won't go to NL speedway at Birmingham because its so much slower (10 seconds a race I was told). In actual fact, the NL track record is 4 seconds slower than the all time EL/PL one - I defy anyone to say they would notice a second a lap. |I drew the conclusion that that was just an excuse not to go to NL speedway, however entertaining it might be. Times at Birmingham this year have been only 1 or 2 seconds slower than the ELITE league! No-one had ever got near Jason Lyons' PL track record,
  12. Age 16, junior speedway champion, from Bristol.
  13. There are plenty of lines round Perry Barr, but I suppose that the NL riders haven't found them yet! Cradley is in Birmingham ... the track is two miles south of M6 Junction 7, on the A34. Don't follow satnav as this will have you wandering round the back end of Aston!

No. You saw last Wednesdays result?

There's a note about this in the Brummies Forum.

    Green Unlucky

British Racing Green dates back to before the First World War: it is actually Irish, after the Ulster TT races.

    League Top Three

He looked very good at the P&P day.

    Mdl & Njl 2015

All of which is true, of course, but the only transport which we have is my car, and most of the cost comes from my pension, so we don't go much further than Scunthorpe, Kings Lynn or Rye House for training or amateur racing. If Chris was to get into a team there would be no problem, except for the effort.

    Mdl & Njl 2015

He has been riding in Scunthorpe amateur meetings, at first in the novice class, then Support when he got too good for that; he won a couple of races last time out. Northside and Redcar are a bit far for us; we are from Birmingham. I was hoping that Chris could join a Brummies MDL team, although this is still up in the air at the moment, as this is much closer than Scunny!.

    Mdl & Njl 2015

I know all about that; the bike on the left is legal and up to date, and its rider has his licences. While it is true that some of the 'Novice' riders are riding for fun, some of them, and probably all of the 'Support' and 'Open' riders, are trying to progress in speedway, and are looking to 'move up' into the NJL. Our rider (Chris Bambury) says that he will ride for any team which will have him!

    Rye House 2015

    Well, you're correct about No.6!

    Mdl & Njl 2015

There should be riders in the amateur racing set-ups who can move up into the MDL, just as riders move from MDL to NL.
  24. Shock horror! Yew cannot be serious!
  25. Does Buxton do any training days for any riders?
