Were'nt they talking about land by Edinburgh Airport once? What happened to that? -
Plymouth v Poole Tues 20/09 Play off QF 2nd leg
*JJ replied to Skidder1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
"Confound their politiks, confound their knavish tricks" ... Poole would have thought it referred to them! The second verse usually sung ("Thy choicest gifts in store/On him be pleased to pour") is actually the third verse. -
Certainly Castagna. James Wright rode very well in the two challenge matches; well worth considering? And everyone has forgotten Justin Sedgmen, who has proved his worth this year. Did you see his ride in Heat 15 last Wednesday?

ALAN GRAHAME MEMORIAL MEETING BRUMMIES V CRADLEY WEDS 14 SEPT
*JJ replied to Speedway fan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A touch wobbly - he is 68! - but he still showed the old form! -
At the time, it was just the National League, in effect a Third Division. The racing was just as good as the higher leagues; indeed the Eastbourne/Birmingham playoff final were some of the best speedway matches I have seen. However, the BSPL in their (?)wisdom have destroyed the (invaluable) MDL/SDL and downgraded the NL to the NDL.

Not really; it's going ahead. -
Quite right; I couldn't remember the spelling! Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silv'ry Tay!/Alas! I am very sorry to say etc. Puts Shovlar's epic in the shade.

BIRMINGHAM BRUMMIES ‘PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE V CRADLEY Wed 7th Sep Challenge
*JJ replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
And the problem is, the Cradley riders are supposed to be those who have had a connection with the club. Given that Cradley have not been in the top league for over 20 years, who could they have as heat leaders? -
BIRMINGHAM BRUMMIES ‘PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE V CRADLEY Wed 7th Sep Challenge

Riders are not serfs. -
So what had happened, Dean? And a couple of years ago, before Covid, the people who ran the Weymouth SDL team (and still do - one was the father of Ben Trigger, IIRC) were saying that they had found a site for a new track, and were just trying to find funding for it. What happened about that? I met them when I took a rider to ride for them in 2017 - with a bike which Dean bought afterwards!

BRITISH U21 FINAL -- BIRMINGHAM 31st AUG 7.15
*JJ replied to Speedway fan's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Much better than at Leicester, anyway. -

Which is exactly what happened when the Phillips promotion at Birmingham went bust in 2014. So don't hold your breath for repayment ...
-
Probably not ... I was once criticised on another speedway forum for calling a girl a girl. This is the Century of the Fruitbat, you know!

Why does everybody hate Poole?
*JJ replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You've now answered the question posed by this thread! -
He's been excellent for Birmingham the last couple of weeks. Made himself very popular!
-
It isn't actually. All motor sport is expensive, but speedway is about as cheap as anything, except possibly banger racing.
-
NO!
-
Somebody was boasting that you would do that at Birmingham
-
Some people are never happy ... as for the dust, what did you expect, given the temperatures? And why did you leave after heat 14? Annoyed that the Brummies were winning easily?
-
Always a bad mistake!

So do I; last time I simply doubled back at the One Stop turning.
