Yeah. He was a joy at Swindon. Great attitude...

CO says they arent... but they are both named as directors of the new company so the remedy should be simple... "Hey Tel, it's not true that the dogs are stopping, I dunno what people are talking about." "Oh ok Clark in that case there is no reason to stop running Speedway at The Abbey, I'll carry on". "Yeah you do that Tel, cos we love Speedway, you silly billy". " Ok cheers Clark. Just one thing, why have we set up a new company to find somewhere to run Speedway when there is apparently no reason to stop at The Abbey?" "Come on Tel, that's just to keep the fans guessing, you dont think we're going to be honest with them after all this time do you?"
Precisely!
This is how ridiculous these shi-sters stories are.

Terry Russell is getting such an easy ride..

Not impressed by the Speedway Star article this week about this.
Barely scratched the surface, with little or no insight or investigative challenge to what has been going on.

Ashby was brilliant at his best. He scored a 12-point maximum in the first 6 meetings i went to.

Popped up there today. It's a sorry site.
Nice new road built where the pits once were though!

Terry has played an 'interesting' role in this throughout...

News coming through that former rider and Halifax promoter Eric Boothroyd passed away last night, aged 95.

This Chris Mackett, I assume?

My first live meeting for 4 years and it was pretty decent to be fair.
2 full strength teams, close score throughout and some decent racing at times.
And to top it all neither Poole nor O*ford won lol.
What's not to like?

I recall Lee winning the Adver Superstars meeting at Swindon in '83. He broke the track record whilst pulling wheelies down the straights on the last couple of laps of one heat. Such skill...

There was George Snailsham whom rode for Ipswich under the name of Tich Read
Birmingham also had a rider who for several years rode as Lionel Watling, although his real name was James Goldingay.
Belle Vue's Louis Lawson was another who used an assumed name - I used to know what it was, but can't remember it now.
Anyone think of others?
Attila Stefani rode for Oxford as Mark Frost.

Good effort by everyone on Monday and it has got a fair bit of coverage in the media so if G.I still remain silent then that will tell everyone who still holds some hope that they should give up.
Exactly. The damage is already done. They can ride things out as they already have the financial foundation in place from the early batches of houses.
I'm just flabbergasted it's taken so long for so many to realise as Stadia Uk / Gaming International have such a history of this at other places.

All part of the GI plan. The longer they drag it out, the more the interest dies.
The days of the initial passion and mobilisation in the town against the first redevelopment announcement are a distant memory...

I'm bound to have missed at least one..

Thanks. Glad you found the site of interest, Iain.
Schumi and I try and keep it ticking over as best we can.

So many, for different reasons.
Swindon complete home and away 1974 - my first season...
My complete World Final collection
Thankfully, i have never seen a fatal accident live, but i do have several programmes from meetings where there was a tragedy. Teo, Dave Wills, Denny Pyeatt ans Kevin Holden being some examples.

Although i don't have one particular item that is massively valuable or rare, I am quite chuffed I have every Speedway Star and one-off World Final programme.

I thought ref got that one correct. Musielak entered the turn on the kerb and finished near mid-track
