  4. nice to see good comments coming from our visitors, pity about the dust but it didn,t spoil the racing, must admit i half expected the price hike for the programme.
  5. great racing, just proves you don,t need grand prix riders 50 metres ahead, yes it was dusty but it was the best racing i,ve seen at poole for a while.skornicki was the best rider on view but a great last lap from a very impressive barker who on this performance should make a mockery of his average.the other stars were in my view lukas jankowski who must be worth a punt by somebody and jordon frampton, eddie kennett, tomasz piszcz and stuart robson had their moments.david howe ,danny king, klindt and korneliussen were disapointing.you can always rely on bridger doing a daft move and he didn,t let us down after being passed by robson he went for a gap that was not there and cleans him out when he could have settled for third place and a place in the final.
  6. funny lee richardson contacted eastbourne about returning next year after declaring he was giving gb a miss next year.

yes weymouth beat crayford on the tuesday before with their three juniors in the side and it just shows even with your uni education you still learn something new everyday.

A Track I Wish I Could Have Visited

my comment is based on one visit in 1978 to watch weymouth with a patched up team with three juniors including kevin smith, before barry thomas who was a fine site on any track, this team had laurie etheridge, alan sage, alan johns and tony featherstone not the most exciting riders and etheridge and sage . knew their home track like the back of their hand.just wasn,t a good meeting.the stadium was a mini wimbledon and the bar was superb,in fact the coach driver had to drag myself and my two mates out of the bar.unusually this meeting was on a saturday night.

west ham, looked a huge stadium.nearly went to crewe once while on holiday in north wales, father changed his mind at the last minute. often wonder about tracks that only lasted a few years, romford, doncaster, sunderland, plymouth(pennycross late sixties) and barrow(park road) looked to have fine views of the surrounding countryside.on the mentioned north wales holiday also went past ellesmere port track but it was the year before it opened.i would say the worst track ive been is crayford.

    Chris Julian

lived at fraddon cornwall, was one of the nicest blokes around off track but on tracktook no prisoners. remember his spell at weymouth, if he gated nobody could pass him, lets say he used all of the track. sadly was killed a few weeks before st austells revival in 1997.remember reading his obitary in the speedway star how he was looking forward to his local track appearing again,a sight he sadly didn,t see.
  14. on poole forum says muscle damage, lucky lad, horrible crash, one of those were the stadium goes quiet for a while. get well soon rob and all who were involved.

    Dave Buttigieg

got a feeling he was born in malta.started at the training school at matchems ringwood in the early seventies alongside martin yeates, len davis, steve lomas, geoff swindells, russel foot ,brian chaldicott amongst others.he was the best rider out of these and would have been a quality rider.

    Different Results

  22. enjoyed this afternoon, some good racing after the interval, very impressed with the russian lad and chris holder is certainly a 8 point rider this season.will have to give zabik a bit more time but he was alot better than harris who should not turn in that display.has he only got one bike,he was well off the pace.nicki pedersen was head and shoulders above anybody else and it looks that he will dominate the sport for a few seasons like ivan mauger did in the early seventies. good crowd certainly more thant three thousand.
