COVENTRY have agreed dates for their remaining home City Gearboxes National League fixtures this season. Due to the effects of the weather and Elite League re-arrangements, it will be necessary to stage some double-headers to ensure the NL programme is completed in time for the cut-off for top four places. The first double-header will be on Sunday August 9, starting at 2pm, where originally-scheduled opponents King’s Lynn will be followed by Stoke. The Kent match on Friday August 28 will now start at 7pm and will be followed by a clash with Mildenhall. And on Friday September 11 the action will also get underway at 7pm, with Buxton to be followed by Rye House. The City Gearboxes Storm remain very well placed in the National League thanks to their impressive away from, and their first home encounter comes on Friday July 17 when current leaders Birmingham provide the opposition.

MDL: Re: Eryk Borczuch 15 year old Eryk Borczuch rode in the MDL for short-handed Coventry Vikings against Peterborough on Monday May 4th scoring 3 points in Coventry’s 19-17 win. Polish born Broczuch has lived in the UK for almost 10 years and is based at Northampton with his family. He has applied for British citizenship and his passport and rides on an ACU and SCB licence. With several MDL fixtures that day and with unavailability and injuries he was drafted in on the assumption that all paperwork was in place and he was eligible. Once his passport is secured he will become eligible to ride in the league again. As a consequence the meeting result is amended to Coventry 16 Peterborough 17 and the 2 league points go to the Thundercats.
