  1. Well.... As somebody who as worked in IT for, well, a very long time.... I can say that the process to register was very easy and then to buy the ticket for the live stream was really easy. It was a slick presentation - we all know that speedway is miles better when you are there compared to watching it on TV as it is simply a lot faster when you are there, but this was good, several camera's and you felt close to the action. I have to say that the comment on this thread above: "The production team do a pretty good job and presentation is commendably laid back, with no excessive shouty bits when a home rider hits the front. Possible exceptions to this are when Josh Pickering gates last and ends up first after taking the scenic route round the dog track" Got mentioned on the commentary at least twice it was funny. Bitchiest comment of the night was at the end of the interview with the mascot "Ed the Monarch" (who was mute) and the commentator stated he said as much as some riders in that interview. Good stuff I think that other promotions should take a leaf from Edinburgh's book and try the same thing - there was 84 people on the live feed. That's a good addition for speedway gates. Well done to all involved. Even as an away fay watching their team get walloped, it was good.
  2. Well, I'm 220 miles from the track and it will take four hours to drive (which I believe is an ambitious estimate given the M6 on a Friday afternoon). I'll report back on how partisan the commentating is at a later time
  3. This is a brilliant idea. I think all other teams should be offering this service. Some people are nervous about returning to the real world - this could be a great way of increasing "attendance". I'll certainly be streaming this as long as I can get past the setup and registering part of the website

Given that we still have a day and a half left, I'm confident dandelion can hit the 2500 target this month despite the two bank holidays...

20th October? They won't need water to prepare the track, they'll need a gritter.

The "no war-cries" was a positive I thought. Crowd never got "up for the meeting", no overtaking and the home riders never looked liked overtaking anybody...

He was exactly the same at the British Final - when he gated, he was fast. But didn't seem to have an idea of how to overtake anybody. I think it's been like this since his injuries, he needs to regain his mental fortitude.

    Newcastle 2019

Was my first meeting at Newcastle for a good while. Track was smooth, but seemed a bit dry, which was understandable given the weather forecast. Newcastle top 5 were very poor, only two heat wins between them. When behind, Worrall seems to just follow the rider in front using the same line, so is never going to overtake, 7 points from five rides and no wins is a poor return from a no 1 at home. Bjerre and Jorgensen not much better. Wethers had a bit of fight about him, but it would have been a sorry scorecard without Max Clegg. Crowd was bigger than I was expecting, but a noted lack of atmosphere due to the lack lustre display by the home team. Wasn't a great meeting.
  10. Given today's weather, wulfsport umbrellas would be more appropriate ...
  11. Thanks. Heavens above!!! 6:30??? What do you do for an hour!!!
  12. How early should you get there to have no parking issues? I am assuming you can buy a ticket on the day
  13. Remember, Jesus loves us all. But God supports the Newcastle diamonds.
  14. I'm not sure the shoe polish league can provide anything other than shiny shoes.
  15. Given the way Newcastle rode tonight I think worky would have gone for a national League rider. Aarnio excepted.
  16. Newcastle Riders scored: 6+1, 5+2, 9, 6+3, 4, 4+1 and 6. About what you'd expect from second strings and reserves.
  17. So you've answered your own question then, mechanical failure can cause a rider to crash. If a rider loses his shoe, that could cause him to fall off (and yes I've seen this happen). Another rider coming down can cause a rider to "lay his bike down", this actually happened at the incident on Sunday. Many examples really.
  18. Perhaps if somebody painted a big X on the third bend fence where the riders hit, it would get the message across that you can't really go full throttle around brough park. You can complain about the track all you want, but the vast majority of incidents on the third bend are rider error.

If you started running when saying grrrr, you'd sound like Lindgren. If at an away track you'd also be moving faster...

Which is a very different thing to saying that we know everything in a contract. I'm not precious about this, but it sounds like: - All loan agreements are formed from standard templates that include the rider, the hiring club and the owning club - All the termination clauses are therefore known and if the hiring club terminates the contract (presumably with some penalties?) then the rider will be contracted to the owning club In which case we are all good

You can write what you want in a contract - as long as both sides sign it. It is then legally binding.

Rather depends what was written in the contract Unless we know that then everything else is mere speculation...
  24. Awesome. That has at least made me smile.... Perhaps a new advertising campaign could be developed using this "At Brough Park tonight: Chav's on scooters".
