Is it my imagination or are some riders now using any tactics they can to win races. Hans Andersen stated that you don't win by being nice, so more elbows are used, riders leave their opponents no room at all, and others drop their bikes at the slightest of touches. I have watched speedway for thirty years and have seen hard riding and hard riders, but now it seems that win at all costs riders seem to be bringing their tricks into use.

The more you win the more you get paid, simple really suprised it's taken them so long to tag on. Theres nothing rong with hard riding, as long as it is clean riding and not putting some one in hospital.

Its like when footballers dive. No-one likes it but everyone does it cos it helps win matches. Its part and parcel of the game. It seems as though now, tactical riding is part and parcel of speedway.

There have always been hard riders (and one or two real nutters) and there probably always will be.

Have to say, though, that in my opinion air fences encourage riders to take more risks!
