On World Cup night, the crowd in the back straight stand was limited to 500 by stewards.

 

Mind you, there was no lighting in there, and it was pretty well pitch black by the end of the meeting. Must have broken all sorts of heath and safety rules, I reckon!

 

Total crowd for the Race-Off was given in the local Evening Post as 2,300. Crowd for the Final was "4,000 plus" according to Speedway Star.
