Fitting finale that Ed won in his last appearence in a rockets racesuit. Fully deserved after beating Davey 2-1 when they met and you could see Ed wanted it so he could sign off in style at Rye.

Nice words from him afterwards in praising the club and saying how Rye and the fans would always hold a special place in his heart, although difficult to make out as he was quite emotional while speaking.

Big crowd and must have been pushing 3,500. Not a bad meeting. Very professionally run and you can see why riders want to come and ride for Rye and why the crowds for the last few weeks of the season have been so big. Shows what can happen when a promoter goes out and promotes the sport. Perhaps some of the wallys in charge of the lower rung PL clubs can have a word with promoters like Len and the umpa lumpa at Lynn.

Good to see Davey Watt return and Lanham was up there as usual, but provided abit more entertainment than he usually does to be fair. Bridger was dreadful out of the gate, but was giving it plenty and Tai was steady and on the pace. Auty looks as though he has fallen behind Tai somewhat and was poor on Saturday. He was beating Bridger regularly two years ago and has more experience than Tai, but hasn't shown anything at the higher level yet and looks as though the mentioned riders will both go on to better things. Be interesting to see where he ends up next season and how he performs. The raiders done ok and fair play to Bazza Burchatt in defeating Bridger and Rob Mear showed how much he has come on and will be the next one off the production line.

Good end to a frustrating season of injury problems, but Len has made sure already that with luck on the injury front then we will be the team to beat again with the signings of Tai and Roynon.

Good luck to Ed in his full time EL career.

Certainly wudnt mind Uncle Len or The Chapmans promoting Mildenhall, both are extremely professional and run their respective clubs like a speedway team should be run!

The A11 challenge v Mildenhall excluded  But yep he has turned Rye into an excellent set up and deserves his success.

We wouldn't want that, we'd be at the wrong end of the table :o

Crap format for meeting (prefer the 16 rider field myself), but the racing was superb. Good to see Davey Watt back at Rye. missed that leg trailing style of his round the 1st/2nd bends.

Great to see eddie go out in style, by winning his last heat in a Rockets jacket. A rider thats virtualy grown up with the club.

Best of luck in the Elite League for 2007.

May the force be with you!!!:wink:
