how can that happen, people disagreeing with you :D  thats just not right is it!

Ps. dont let him go to Poole :P

Naah... I had it coming... Just thought it would be different...

Pour yourself a glass of Salmiakki and watch the action. :approve:

Salmiakki was all gone, someone had beat me to it! :o But it was a good meeting, alltough the track wasn't that great.

Some very interesting development behind the scenes at the moment regarding Finnish Extraliiga speedway. Like said about the Pori meeting in three weeks, that look's to be a real cracker! Teams booking riders from Sweden faster than I can put a name to a face. If the weather permits it will be the meeting of the season.

Extraliiga at Pori 27th July, parade starts at 1800 hrs

Extraliiga at Kauhajoki 28th July, parade starts 1350 hrs

EDIT: Full results from the 2nd Kauhajoki Speedway now online on the bottom of page 9 on this thread.

BTW, what would a Finnish rider get as a starting average in Premier League? 5.00 if he has no experience of top league action in Poland or Sweden, am I correct?

Seems that way as Kalle Katajisto is coming to Edinburgh on a 5pt ave, any comments from the finnish mob?

My opinions are well documented. Hopefully this will turn out for the better, and when Kalle gets his avg after the needed amount of matches he has a better chance of getting a team place in a few years.

Copypasted from the ACU rulebook:

------------

17.3.2 Assessed CMA's (and Grades) will be as follows:

a) Work Permit Riders EL CMA PL CMA

FIM Grand Prix Rider 8.00 not permitted

Commonwealth Rider 3.50 7.00

Others (see note 1) 4.00 8.00

B) Other Riders

FIM Grand Prix Rider 8.00 not permitted

Professional League (note 2) 4.00 or 5.00 * 8.00

Others (note 3) 3.00 5.00

Conference League 3.00 3.00

Note 1 Including Riders that have not qualified or been selected, excluding nomination as a Wild Card for the FIM GP Series during this and the previous 2 seasons.

Note 2 Riders that participate (or have participated) in Czech (Extra), Danish, Polish or Swedish Leagues. Where a Rider has achieved a 6.00+ CMA in either the Swedish or Polish Elite Leagues, then the EL entry CMA shall be 5.00.

Note 3 Including Riders that have not qualified or been selected for the FIM GP Series during this and the previous 2 seasons, but not those Riders who have ridden in the CL as an Amateur.

17.3.2.1 Riders failing to achieve an actual CMA of 3.00, will be re-assessed to a CMA of 3.00.

------------

Katajisto was saved by the fact that he indeed has not ridden in any of the leagues considered to be a league by the BSPA/ACU. One heat in any of the Swedish leagues (Elitserien, Allsvenskan, 1st div) would have given him a starting average of 8.00 in the Premiere.

Like pointed to me via an example of Daniele Tessari, this might turn out to be a good move. Providing Kalle gets his 6+6 meetings and stays in one piece.

Monarchs took the hit with Tessari and gave him a chance and unless Kalle really has problems i cant see it being any different with Kalle.

Keittiöpiste and Kotkat meet again today at Seinäjoki.

Extraliiga today at Seinäjoki. Once again a good meeting. Track was a bit dry in the beginning but it was sorted. Alltough Jokerit was clearly at the wrong track today, one of their riders was even lapped, there were a few good battles.

Heat 3 where Lehtinen gated and Messing followed. Messing started gathering speed on lap three and dived under Lehtinen on the last lap in turn 3. Lehtinen gave way, I think he thought he already had it in the bag.

Heat 4 saw Laukkanen making the gate. Mäkinen and Hautamäki rode side by side until turn 3, where Mäkinen kept it on on the outside and made the pass.

Heat 12 saw Messing as a joker. From the start he was half a wheel length in front of Lehtinen as they entered turn 1. Messing simply leaned against Lehtinen to make the room and was gone. Elbows and all... :approve:

Heat 16 Johansson and Hautamäki (outside) gated and Johansson moved Hautamäki wide in the first corner. It did look a bit harsh but OKish in my book. Hautamäki obviously felt different since he showered Johansson after the finishing line and gave him the finger too. Hautamäki was all red in the pits... :blink:B)

Next weekend at Pori and Kauhajoki... Good meetings to look forward to if the weather permits. I think the Pori meeting will decide the championship. If Keittiöpiste wins it before Kopparberg it a done deal. If Kotkat wins it before Kopparberg the lead will be tied. If Kopparberg wins it before Keittiöpiste they will have a chance to challenge Kotkat for silver.

Kopparberg will definately have two foreigners (not allowed to mention), so will Kotkat and Keittiöpiste. Even Paholaiset have invested in to getting a foreigner, alltough not of the same standard. So enjoy!

EDIT: The word is out that Jari Mäkinen, Tero Aarnio and Rene Lehtinen will ride in the Scandinavian final of the European Championship in Esbjerg, Denmark next mont. Someone will either confirm or deny this late this week.

Kaj Laukkanen and Juha Hautamäki will ride in the next round of the pairs EC with probably Tero Aarnio as the reserve.Someone will either confirm or deny this late this week. :D Thats week 30.

Any news on Kevin Doolan riding in the Finnish League in the near future??  :o

Not really. I expect this was a one-off because of the fixture lists dont allow it to necessarily happen again. And alltough I had heard about it about two weeks earlier that he'd be here, Keittiöpiste (his team here) didn't comment about it and in fact had told their riders to keep quiet up about it until they were in a car riding to Pori to get rained off.

Results from the weekend tonight, I have them on my home computer, but they dont add up due to a calculation error made by the officials.
