Grand Prix Heat By Heat Format.

I have noticed that whereas in the original individual racing format prior to the grand prix all heats at all qualifying meetings were exactly the same;

HEAT 1...1,2.3,4.

HEAT 2...5,7,6,8.

HEAT 3...10,11,9,12

HEAT 4...15,14,16,13 ETC

The Grand Prix format seems to change at every meeting can anyone tell me why this is?

You have to excuse my ignorance as I have only just recently returned to following Speedway after a large gap.

The format remains the same however there is a new draw made each GP for the riders e.g Jason Crump wears number 1 but in the last GP had a rider draw number of 2
