One thing i want to know is, where the hell is this German guy that Malc has been going on about, i don't see him anywhere in the line up, but not to worry with have the amazing Billy 'only riding, cos my dad owns the team' Legg.

Not to worry, from what i can see there are some exciting guys in the rest of the line up, its a pity that many of the heats will be one sided, but i hope that i can be proved wrong, and that this meet will set reading up for a decent enough stint in the PL.

It's a pity that many of the team are not there, but i know one that wasn't even asked which makes me wonder if the rest even where??

Thats about right Kyle Hughes being a Reading asset should have been included in this line up :(

i think youll find they were all asked but the guarantee fee was not enough to entice them out all though it seemed fair to me

Sorry - but at least one Reading rider was not asked, can't speak for the others though, and as they were not riding why wasn't there a press confnce after the swindon meeting so we could say thanks for their efforts?? or was there some unnecessary nervousness about the guys getting a chance to say goodbye?

Seems a pity as same thing happenend last season - all seems a bit worrying personally

It seems that the Wellie does listen to the fans, not a tenner maybe but a bit cheaper....

LOYALTY BONUS FOR SUPPORTERS!

Ahead of the Denny Pyeatt Memorial at Smallmead Stadium on Monday 22 October, Racers’ boss Malcolm Holloway has decided to reduce admission charges by way of a big ‘thank you’ to all the fans who have stuck by the club this season.

Holloway explained: ‘We have come through a lot in the last few months and the fans have stood by the club. I just wanted to do something to thank everyone for their loyalty. We had already indicated that normal admission prices would apply for the meeting in honour of Denny, but, having thought about it, I have decided to cut the prices for our supporters.’

Admission prices for Monday’s gala meeting will now be: Adults £13, Concessions £8 and Children (Under 15 years) £3, whilst Kids (Under 11 years) will go FREE, if accompanied by a paying adult.

hmmm - loyalty??? sorry i thought you were joking!!!!

We went to Rye last night for the PL Final - £12 entry for adults £3 for kids and a full colour prog for £2 - that seems more like a bonus to the fans!!!!

Sorry but for a second string PL and conf league attending meeting these prices are way off - we as 'loyal' (daft?) fans will be there to check out the new talent coming through, but with no racers except lemo, what sort of crowd is wellie expecting?? if it is a sign of the future......

Well i for one am quite looking forward to tomorrow night,no ovepaid so called "elite" league riders/primadonners going through the motions, instead young and hungry promiseing riders trying to win some money which could make a big difference to their future, and if this is a sign of the future i e premier league racing then i'm all for it.

I agree. IMHO, the line-up looks very interesting and attractive..

Indeed am making my first visit of the year to Smallmead for this one and very much looking forward to it.. :)

Nigel, I can understand your disappointment that the guys didn't get to say goodbye, in fact if I'd have been told that Janusz's last meeting was the Craven Shield fixture, I'd have made sure that he'd have had the chance to say his farewell's.

I don't think there are any nervousness about people having microphone time, as the Promotion are very honest. I think it's just defeat after defeat has meant not too many positives for people to discuss. However, it certainly would have been nice last week as Jonas and Sam both deserved the opportunity to say their thanks to the fans and get some well deserved applause for their commendable efforts this season.

Frank Facher is the German lad, sadly he can't get time off from his studies to come over, which is a shame I was so looking forward to annoucing his name!

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm.

Thanks

Billy 'only riding, cos my dad owns the team' Legg.

Billy stepped in at short notice to ride for Reading at Swindon on Easter Sunday, which was before his dad owned the team. IMO he deserves to be riding tonight.

Cheers

Haywood

You should be thankful that Mark does now own the team, otherwise you might not of had any meeting to whinge about at all tonight!
