Gerard Ellis was a second-half rider at Kings Lynn for a while. I thought he had been loaned out to Newcastle at some time, but maybe not. Quite why else he would have been at Eastbourne I wouldnt know. Unless on-spec for a second-half ride there.

I think his family kept a fish and chip shop in Kings Lynn at the time

He was born in Kings Lynn, and his first name was actually Gerarde. In all, he made nine appearances for Newcastle that year, after injury had sidelined a couple of the Diamonds' team.

Hope that helps.

Absolutley correct, he was born on Saddlebow Road itself and did make some appearances for the Diamonds. He did run his own Fish & Chip business in Gaywood King's Lynn, which grew into Gerry's Pizza restaurant on the Saturday Market Place in King's Lynn
