lucy15 0 Posted June 29, 2011 hello there, just wondering if anyone saw the group of idiots on bend 3 lower tier roughly 5-10 rows from the front?? I was sat a few rows back and the whole time they were causing discomfort to other spectators around them and the stewards did nothing until eventually they got so rowdy a fight broke out with a gentlemen in front of them and 3 younger men. i approached the stewards to see if they could have a word to quiet them down abit and all i got in reply was " there just a group of lads having good fun". In the end the three thugs were ejected, one attempted to to re-enter the arena only to be carried out, but surely it should have never got to the stage where they had to be thrown out? In my opinion they ruined the experience of what should have been a magical day with there obscene gestures and behaviour. lucybristol Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
phillips11 0 Posted June 30, 2011 There was a fight near where I was stood. 3rd bend very top row after heat 12. Big group of about 15 poles about 3 rows infront of the back row. On the back row was about 8 english guys. I think the english blokes were laughing at a pole that came last, one of the poles threw a beer at them, one of the british blokes threw one back and the poles ran up the seats and a fight broke out. The thing that concerned me was that next to the english blokes was an elederly couple and they were right in the mix of it. The stewards didnt arrive until at least after a minute and a half. It was down to another fan who was sat in between them to try and break it up. The stewards were a total disgrace and someone would have seen this going on if they did there job properly. Like i said it went on for about a miunute before any police turned up. It was ok in the end but what if the elderly women had been struck, as i do not exagreate when she was about 1 seat away from the fight. All of the poles were p!ssed out of there head and the british blokes retaliated. If it was another sporting event there was no way the poles would have been allowed into the stadium, let alone carry on being in it with more beer on the other side of the stadium. the stewards are to blame for letting them in in that state, total disgrace. There were some people in front of us who were up and down like yoyos when certain riders were on track meaning we couldn't see, so we moved a few seats along . Problem solved. SCB 15 Posted June 30, 2011 When I got in a 5 to 5 there was a huge void in the middle of the 3rd bend top tier, so I called my parents down and we sat in that. It meant my mum could sit happily while I could jump around without getting in anyones way. As the meeting progressed a few more lively people stood behind up so had no issuer with me standing/jumping around in front of them, they were doing the same. Just find somewhere sensible to sit. Theres plenty of empty seats! You can have almost a whole section to yourself on the home straight top tier if you like! As for the Poles, yes 1 or 2 get carried away but the majority of them are great fun, they're there for a good time and they do just that. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm not complaining I had no issue, i am talking about the old lady that was there and thelentgth of time it took the police to get to fight. She could have been hit or anything in that time. I have been a steward at Swindon Town F.C and Swindon Speedway, and for the vast majority of drunks there would be a no-entry policy, or a quick removal if causing a nuisance. At Cardiff soft-drinks are confiscated before entry, which is ridiculous. You can purchase loads of booze inside the stadium. We were right next to the melee, and just saw the 2 Poles being pushed over the seats a few feet away. Don't know who started it, but it took one elderly steward ages to scale the steep terrace. The police were there pretty quickly, but why did they evict the 2 Poles, then allow them back in only to evict them again for making threats to the English fans. Very passionate fans, 99% are well-behaved, but their drunken state caused about 20 fans, mostly elderly, women, and families to move from the area. It's a good thing that half the seats were empty, so people could move from the trouble. I pointed out to the steward that a pregnant woman was in a distressed state. The stewards were poor, and it does say in the programme no standing in the stadium. Don't think my missus will be sitting in U20 next year. They got into the stadium nice and early, politely asked me to let them through to put their flag over the edge of the tier and went back to their seats to enjoy the meeting. About 10 minutes before the meeting started a seemingly innocent father came in and sat next to us with his wife and daughter. He then decided to put his Cornish flag over the top of the polish one, covering it up. The Polish guy came over and, again quite politely, asked him to move the flag. The English man then began shouting at the polish guy about how he's paid for the privilege of front row seats (which are the same price) and his flag should be allowed to stay. He then started saying how his flag deserved to be there more, simply because it's 'the Cornish flag mate'. No other reason, just that. He then proceeded to rip the polish flag from the banister. So I was quite pleased when the polish girl came over and whacked him People can moan all they like about the Poles but when the British fans behave like that we can hardly blame them for getting a but carried away sometimes! Nonsense, if you want to put your banner/flag up, you get in early. You might pay for a front seat, not the railings in front nor do you pay for the privilege of a flag/ banner spot . Point taken,but I must any trouble usually involes Poles,it annoyed me when a group in front of me all stood up at the end some races and we missed a couple of close finishes,its not quite the same watching it afterwards on tbe big screen Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying tar them with the same brush ,but.there seem to be quite a few idiots,usually pi$$ed up with little regard to other people I havnt seen them getting all rowdy in town on the Friday/Saturday night though,,I wonder why??
