Tigerblade 221 Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) Bumping this one back up with sad news unfortunately...... Ernest passed away on 28th December, a couple of months short of his 99th birthday, as reported by Phil White on social media. Apparently he (Ernest) was a veteran of D Day and Normandy, so a great hero off track too. RIP (Race In Peace) Edited January 3, 2019 by Tigerblade
Guest Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) In 1956, when I had good contacts with Aldershot, I tried to persuade Pedlar Palmer to make a racing return and even offered - thanks to Pat Flanagan - the loan of a bike. But after several days of consideration, Pedlar declined the offer Edited January 3, 2019 by Guest
Guest Posted January 4, 2019 It's always of interest when old-time speedway characters like Ernest 'Pedlar' Palmer are remembered. As the saying somehow goes "...they don't make them like that any more ..."!
