Shame really but it looks like the same person has been mouthing off to the BSPA again! For someone who has boasted in the past he is all for bringing on the youngsters I wonder if he realises his rants may actually be damaging the MDL??

Is the 'call off' because of a rule that league and cup racing can only take place between specific dates?

From the Coventry website.........

------------------------------------------------

The meeting was to feature the one-off Midland Development League KO Cup Final between the Coventry-Mercia Vikings and Stoke; however, Stoke have now stated they have been informed that this 'in-season' event cannot take place outside the regular campaign.

Coventry Speedway had express permission from the SCB to run the MDL KO Cup Final at the Christmas Cracker, and we are therefore disappointed that Stoke will not be providing a team.

So what kind of event will the 'Christmas Cup' be then..? A team match or a small indiv. event? One assumes the former, bearing in mind the number of heats involved..?

Considering it's the MDL and it would still be 2013 and that this is an official sanctioned meeting it's beyond me why it couldn't be the League Cup Final..

It's a 6-heat team match with two four-man teams, standard MDL format.

Can anyone explain who at the BSPA sanctioned that Coventry could stage the MDL final?

Can anyone explain who at the BSPA told Stoke they can not ride in the MDL final at Coventry?

Is speedway just a complete joke?

After Stock Cars at Brandon on boxing day, will the track be fit anyway?
