Seemingly no interest in this meeting. Both sides have riders missing. Leicester have booked Josh Pickering to cover for Ryan Douglas ( injured in Poland yesterday) and utilise RR for Kyle Howarth. Likewise Ipswich operate RR for Danny King.

With the wind and hot weather today, there is no amount of water buster can put down that could make the track too wet.

It’s not a fair comparison though as some teams have ridden very few matches. A clearer picture will emerge as the season progresses, but I’d be surprised if Scunthorpe make the play offs. Poole will be on top and one, or maybe both of the Scottish teams will be top four. Surprisingly, that looks like it’ll be Edinburgh as Harris seems to be really struggling wherever he goes. Redcar are looking strong, Berwick a bit hit and miss but I’d rate them higher than Scunthorpe. Oxford were always over-rated, in my view and, without Riss, need Sam to be hitting nearly 15 points per meeting. Plymouth looked handy for a while, even though losing Barker for a to injury was always a when, not an if, but having King missing is really hurting them. Which I think leaves Workington. The pre-season gamble, some call it folly, has proved all the doubting Thomas’s right. Maybe their only success this year will be snatching the wooden spoon away from Scunthorpe.
