Obviously.  We at Newcastle tried to predict if a change was likely to happen and be near the team managers before the riders were sent out so they could tell us. Also we would look at the riders going out to make sure no changes had been made without our knowledge.

These guys are professionals.   They will earn hundreds of pounds if they win Heat 15. A big hitter will be unhappy to be "rested" from the race in case he gets hurt.......
