No it wasn't. I spent a lot of time looking at forecasts and rainfall radar yesterday (as I went to Wight Warriors). The forecasts all predicted light showers starting somewhere between 7 and 9 with possibly heavier rain arriving between 9 and 11. None of that falls into the category of 'very bad'. And throughout the day the rainfall radar suggested those forecasts were accurate. It didn't start raining in Poole until around 9pm and unless you have the worst prepared track in speedway the meeting should easily have been completed before it became unrideable. [And anyway where rain is threatened most meetings are completed by 9pm anyway]

We have given him a bit of stick in the past especially when he broke the pit phone only banter but he wasn't happy, did the same with cami who was brilliant and a good laugh

But the forecast was very bad, you can't always wait for it to happen before you decide to call it off. -
It was absolutely chucking it down with rain last night and I doubt very much the meeting would have gone ahead even if we had dry day. Much heavier than last week when the meeting with Leicester was called off. it’s also been raining during today. You had no rain and called a meeting off so totally different.

I don't disagree. I'm simply illustrating that other sports already do the same. There are a whole host of things that clubs could do to make meetings more of an event and greater value for money - most of which have been floated on here any number of times. There is endless free information available on the internet that shows tried and trusted methods used by other sports to engage fans and grow crowds. For whatever reason most clubs ignore that It may well be that the lesser difference in standard between riders is why some people prefer the Championship to the Premiership.
