Thought Northampton rode well tonight, although with twelve last places they were never realistically in with a shout. The racing was much better than last week although the track is still a bit too slick and dry and the starts need to be grippier as at the moment its too easy for opposing riders to make good starts and clear off, need a little more dirt to give a bit more home advantage. Lynn reserves well worth their combined paid 12 and the middle order were excellent, just need to get Fricke & Kvech going properly now, one win between them way below what they should be and will be producing before long. Both seemed to be chasing the set up tonight. Sheffield next Monday will be a huge test.

I'd have taken that beforehand and it might have been different if Harris hadn't been on fire and Klindt a damp squib! Onto Ipswich, which will be tougher, but looking forward to next week now!

Bit harsh complaining about the size of the crowd imo, its a big stadium so always going to look less than other tracks, also i dont buy the "but its Manchester" the place like Birmingham is full of demographics (thats me being politically correct) that dont even know what speedway is yet alone have any interest in it and never will have even if every bus in the city carried huge advertisements for it. Anyways, the match itself was classic Belle Vue with some great racing, much as i expected Lawson and Nicholls were hardly at the races, Brannan, King, Tobi and to a lesser extent Jason all played a part in keep the score a lot closer than many including myself predicted.

Good win and shown why belle vue will win at a canter this season. Very poor performance yet still ran out easy winners. Poor crowd yes but same last year. First 5 matches took a big hit because of the GP then soon as that finished the crowds improved massively. Expect same to happen again. Belle vue really need to get them expensive GP tickets on sale much sooner than a few weeks before the season. Wouldn't worry about bangs. Not easy settling into the uk. The tyres are not fit for purpose and it can take a rider a full season to learn how the tyre reacts etc. -
His points score has been helped by others not finishing in the same race and when he doesn’t gate, he doesn’t look like making any progress. Maybe he will come good, but he’s looked more like the rider that struggled in the middle of last season than the one who did well at the end. Freddy really needs to beat his average, and put a point on it. As a third year rider in this league, an average under 3 points really doesn’t cut it. Progression is an expectation this year, although getting the tyre pressures right is a good start…
