That's weird, John... According to Facebook, you ARE a Facebook user (with multiple accounts - unless there are TWO John Hyams in Penge), and you are a current member of at least one speedway group on Facebook. Therefore, you should be able to access the page - and others. Did you forget that you are a Facebook user?3 points

A very interesting story is developing here. But surely to use your own logic, shouldn't you start a new thread, as I don't see the relevance to 'Coventry stadium revisited ' with this2 points

Cheers. Firstly for the informed response but also for letting me know it might be okay to watch the news again if they're reporting facts again instead of predictions (that stop me going for a pint) Another good fb post from the promoter. Why the bloke hasnt just walked I'll never know. Might not end up with a competitive team but it's an interesting one for sure. Look forward to seeing it in action, fingers crossed.2 points

Given the perceived shortage of riders, and the farce of many riders “ doubling up as well as guesting” would one league not be the sensible answer for the sport in GB promoting the the young talent into the league. Revamp and start again is the answer IMO.2 points

Sad news from Glasgow, former clerk of the course at Shawfield and Ashfield Tom McCrone passed away yesterday. R.I.P. Tom.1 point

It’s been proved many times averages don’t lie. There have been a few exceptions but mainly from up and coming riders.IMO1 point

He lives about ten miles outside of leicester now. Anyway , he's always been a fans favourite wherever he rides.1 point

Oh read it again Haza, I don't think I suggested we should bloody walk from Tuesday Market Place to Lynn on a Monday night!! We all know you aren't a fan of Lynn anymore, god knows why you even post on here, you couldn't be more down on Lynn if you tried!!1 point

We never had all the problems with scams and identity theft back then... Just sad that we have to deal with all these idiots now.1 point

I have nothing but great respect for Adam. Glad to see he's got fixed up close to home. He's salt of the earth and earned a vast number of fans in his short spell at Sheffield. Hope he has a great season and remains injury-free (for once!)1 point

Thanks for posting! For those who CBA to listen to the whole thing: an opening meeting is planned for April 3 (Easter Saturday), with 2,000 tickets - stadium capacity to be decided - on sale from January 1. Promoter Steve Rees is asked about speedway. He believes 2022 is a more realistic prospect than 2021.1 point

I'm still in shock that he isn't on Facebook! I thought he was a major factor in the success of all those groups? Won't they collapse now?1 point

Most of them are probably no longer with us, wouldn't you think? Still, if dead people can vote for Biden, you never know!1 point

I am just wondering out loud really here, but someone who hasn't been to a speedway meeting for 15 years, who has no intention of ever going again, who even stated his association with speedway was a bit of a waste of time, and repeatedly stated his dislike for this forum and many times announced his departure, added to his repeated preference for oval car racing.....surely the solution would be to join an oval car forum and you can better get your questions answered.......seems simple enough to me,but1 point

Whatever team rob & the rest of the promotion get on track hopefully will be a team of 100%ers & ride with pride & that will do for me1 point

Claus will be able to apply for Frontier Worker status as EU citizens who have been regularly employed or self employed in the UK can continue to do so. The 2 new lads have never worked in the UK so can’t. This would allow us to potentially sign an EU citizen who has ridden in the UK regularly. This is different to a new work permit. Was on the news at the weekend1 point

Without covid the 2020 season would have been run and the AGM would have set a new and appropriate limit for 2021 in the full knowledge of current conditions. To suggest the 2020 limit is sacrosanct is to ignore the real world. I would like to aim to keep the limit at 41, but it is simply beginning to look not practicable.1 point

Honestly I don't think throwing a spanner into the works would worry Glasgow much to be fair if history is anything to go by... What will the TV monies amount to 80k (ish) a club maybe? so it would mean 70k per club for an 8 team league... doable?... Glasgow up and Mildenhall IOW and Plymouth come into the Championship so 8 in one league and 14 in the other? The riders will be whoever can be obtained and like in the good old (or bad old) days maybe one 8 point average rider per team in the Premiership (Share things out)… However here is a prediction for you GLASGOW WILL GET THERE OWN WAY... THE POINTS LIMIT WILL STAY AT 41 POINTS AND GLASGOW WILL KEEP THE EXACT SAME TEAM THEY SELECTED FOR 2020; stuff anyone else... and I wish I could predict the lottery numbers as easy... Regards THJ1 point

As a neutral, i enjoyed both the Shay and Odsal. It will need a brave man with deep pockets to bring professional speedway back to Bradford. It's an iconic venue for sure, but i can't see it being financially viable.1 point

Considering he comes in on a 4 ave it's a gamble worth taking ( well done to the promotion ) if he can keep fit he could end up with a 5 plus average0 points
