  1. That seems to confirm where he will be next season, BERWICK
  2. Scott Lamb,Dont know what he works at these days but pretty sure he is a regular at Armadale.
  3. Interesting reading in SS, new centre green presenter for next seaon is M Max getting the Heave or is he getting an assisant ?
  4. Fail to see why everybody only seem to concentrate on Australians who dont make the grade, there are plenty of teams had other "foreigners " who turned out to be useless.Work Permits are just an excuse IMO.
  5. Best of luck to Robert really unlucky in his spell with Berwick saw him in the 2 away matches and was impressed with him then had the unlucky injury in his 1st home match (not his fault) Bad injury at Berwick last season still recovering
  6. 1 Stead 2Wells 3Stead 4Wells 5Stead 6Wells 7Haines My riding order if you want a Home win
  7. Although I dont know quaifications regarding work permits regarding Department of Employment,I think if Teams are willing to finance Young Aussies who are going to cost LESS than a young Brit who not does fancy the Travel up North or want too much money compared to an Aussie they should be allowed to sign.
  8. That will do, if they can persaude everybody on this forum to attend Shielfield the place will be packed out.
  9. Young Max is easily the best of the young Aussies that I have seen up this way in recent years ,although Ryan Douglas looked good aswell.
  10. There are a few riders making decenr money for a sport that you suggest is amatuer at PL level. On saying that most Promotions would settle for a break even situation regarding finance at the end of a season.
  11. I hear Newport have offered him a Team Place subject to him rebuilding the Stadium
  12. I think the sport lacks professionalism in the way it has been run, but for some reason seems to think everything is fine which IMO is misguided .There will be a number of fans from various Clubs wondering what the future holds if things dont pick up after last season which was a disaster in terms of Weather and Crowd levels.
  13. Agree, simply put the reason for refusal in print.
  14. How many what you call "Large Companies " are involved in Speedway sponsership at club level though. Not many IMO
  15. Exactly lets see some of the figures that riders call an insult and not worth riding for ,it might surprise a few.The way Wells is acting he will be totally skint next year without his PL earnings.
  16. Lay -Down engines that led to banked and slick tracks .Take banking off tracks and that will slow the racing down and we may see some overtaking.
  17. You need to get in the real world regarding NL speedway and making money.
  18. With the Promotion that run Mildenhall surely there is plenty of advice on hand .
  19. Nothing personal but is signing a 38 year old what the NL is all about ,I don't think so.
  20. I find it hard to believe that Wells lost money riding for Sheffield he probabably meant he spent most of it subsidising his equipment to ride in Elite League which would be a different issue IMO.
  21. Promoters and riders wont discuss figures.Riders being Self Employed just need a good accountant if they cannot make money, that will solve a lot of their problems.
  22. Why would Ricky Wells ride speedway in Britain so as he could get into debt ! If you have been riding in Speedway for 4/5 years and not making money it is time to find another job . Points money and riding costs are a Taboo subject WHY . Fair enough if Ricky can't make PL pay but he won't get my symphathy.i'm afraid.
  23. Is it just me or what kind of DEAL do these guys like North, Poole,Wells and, as he is Quoted in this weeks Speedway Star Justin Sedgeman want ,they are just average speedway riders and until they prove themselves do not deserve anything out of the "norm" Let them earn there living "working in AUS " instead of bankrupting British speedway. Promoters have to stop trying to put one over each other regarding riders demands and stick together for the future of the sport.
  24. If the rider is good enough he will make enough money from the sport . IF rumours are true some of the points money being paid to mediocre riders is far too much, the sport is dying on its feet .The bottom line is that if expenditure exceeds income closure of tracks will happen Promotions will just fold. The Annual Conference did not come up with any solution to solve the financial trouble the sport is in IMO(or they didn't tell us much if they have)
