  1. you thought everything was on the the up last week, has reality kicked in.iI certainly hope that their fortunes can be turned round as we need successful teams in the North.
  2. The trouble with British speedway is that the variations in tracks sizes and shapes and technical nature of the sport is that modern technology has taken over ,the BSPA over the years have done very little in technical aspects of the sport to address this issue in British speedway and the entertainment value has dropped due to gate and go racing.Tracks in. Poland ,Sweden and recent British purpose built tracks are better suited to modern technology and is therefore much more likely to produce more entertaining racing. You can price anything according to the demand from the public.British Superbikes being an example .
  3. Depends on how you price what length of time you are being entertained with your theory. You are not getting a days entertainment at a speedway meeting. Value for money is the issue IMO.
  4. I am not knocking Jake in particular its just the way the system works averages mean too much and at the end of the day results matter it is very hard to carry 3pt men, that Sheffield line up was always on a hiding to nothing IMO unfortunately young Jake is the scapegoat .
  5. Tend to agree, for years now there have been several Young Brits who just can't cope with the PL when given a chance .the ones that are coping seem to be from a Different form of bike sport ,the grass tracking scene seems to have dried up a little and the Moto Cross boys are taking over.there a lot of riders in NL who have been about for a few years but can't seem to break through for various reasons which have been well discussed on this forum
  6. Maybe the weather forecast put them of watering heavily, but the track was very dry from the off IMO.Standing on the 1st bend it was noticeable that Bager was going in tighter than the rider in front but was not getting anywhere the leaders were on the dirt line about 2/3 out and never looked like being past.
  7. It's interesting to note that Joe Jacobs scored 8+3 yet the only opposing riders he beat we're the Berwick reserves Starke and Carr, thought Compton had a decent debut if there had been abit more grip on the outside I think he would have had a few more points for his efforts. Its was abit gate and go although there were some brave 1st bends from both Teams.Score was close enough throughout to make it interesting.
  8. 4 riders is hardly strength in depth,it maybe was a massive improvement compared to the last few weeks but there are still stronger Teams than Berwick to visit IMO.Hope you can get a few Home wins together as you have a good bunch of loyal fans ..
  9. Good win for Bandits,Glasgow are a poor looking Team too any old timers going through the motions .Raunis not the answer to their problems,Compton will do the job he was brought in for,Screen is not interested after a lap if he is not in front and is just waiting for the end of the season IMO.A few more Home defeats on the way.
  10. I don't think he has and he is not the best of gaters which does not help,he is a better rider than he is showing his away form is still pretty decent a good rider IMO.
  11. I am still not convinced Berwick is his favourite track.Perhaps he was hoping to adapt to it.
  12. Your the man ,should not have doubted your positive attitude ,good call. Looks like Lemon and Shramm best days are now behind them.Wells is usually better at Shielfied.good result for the Team.
  13. Thats some score line I fancy a Plymouth win if Lemon gates.Hope not though.
  14. looks like it was the track to blame for the past 2 weeks after all.
  15. To be successful teams have to have a good reserve unfortunately we let the one we had slip away, the rest of the Team are inconsistent and not performing to their capabilities IMO.Will Kennet be riding on Sunday ?
  16. The fact of the matter is that it was only made official in the last few weeks that it was being implemented next season, that seems very little notice on such an important issue as some Promoters are pointing out.Berwick were pro-active regarding this matter which is commendable but to say that they will be running next year because they have a Air Fence is premature as is being made out by some considering they might not have been running this season if Sponsers were not in place, air fence or no air fence.I don't think it is scaremongering by some Promotions it is a major issue IMO.
  17. Its speedway were talking about 'rule for today 'applies .
  18. Yeah the Berwick fixture list this season is very lopsided for whatever reason the Home fixtures especially .
  19. The throttle woks both ways,If this was an Open meeting these same riders would toddle round to take the cash on offer in case they were going to lose out.It is not good enough .they are plotting their own demise.Tiddlywinks will soon be drawing bigger crowds.
  20. Tricky one for Berwick IMO,Lemon And Schramm might do a lot of damage to back up Wells and Bech.
  21. Have to agree regarding lack of information, the Promoters don't have to answer to fans how they run and finance their club for obvious reason deals with riders and Sponsers should remain confidential ,but when Clubs like Edinburgh(sorry to keep using them as an example but they did publish that they lost approx £30,000last season)and others report losing money and the average fan can see that their Team is just as expensive on paper as last years you wonder what is actually going on. I for one don't believe that the Riders are taking to drop in wages and riding to a wage code (but I may be wrong).the supporters bailed out Monarchs last year which is commendable , will they have to do it again this closed season with the price of a new Air Fence thrown in.We shall see.
