  1. Here we go with the big man act again - "get over it" - I wasn't one of those who gave the death wish verbals and I never would - my comment was to that Mr English didn't say much when Worrall was the bad guy - human nature I suppose
  2. I have already stated on the match thread that I thought BB was in the wrong and should have been excluded. That said the match was only 6 heats old therefore I don't agree that it was going one way as I still think we would have won even if Tero had not been injured and ridden out all his rides. With regards to BB , I haven't seen him jeopardize a riders safety all season, for a start his bikes were pretty crap for the early part and he wasn't in contention in most races to cause any conflict! Bit over the top saying it's something that happens on a daily basis. Can understand George English's annoyance over the incident, perhaps, in the heat of the moment, he forgot about how he supported Richie Worrell over similar incidents a few seasons ago?
  3. From our viewpoint at the stand on 1st bend we definitely felt that Ben had ridden into Tero forcing him into the air fence. It wasn't nice to see and we fully expected Ben to be excluded, therefore we surprised to say the least when the white light went on. Speaking to other spectators , watching from different angles, they felt that Ben was in front and Tero leant into him - I still stand by our opinion. Main thing is that Tero is ok and recovers as quickly as possible form any injuries he suffered. I still think that, even if he had ridden all meeting, Bears would have ran out comfortable winners What did George English say?
  4. I don't particularly have much time for Raving Roy - that said I reckon your comment about him could be perceived as inflammatory at least and possibly libelous ...I would certainly be taking you to task if you called me it.
  5. So what's your view on heat 14? Bears rider leads into bends 1 and 2 but referee puts on the red light to call them back to give Bickley a warning! He wasn't even in the mix even at that stage As others have said , it was swings and roundabouts with the refereeing decisions and I thought he had a very poor night overall
  6. Light showers forecasted between 5pm -7pm but then its sunny intervals with a bit of a breeze so job's a good 'un!
  7. Ironic isn't it! Any day but a Thursday
  8. Weather forecast not looking good for tonight - thundery showers due circa 8pm
  9. We have more chance of being nettled to death! I don't try to look back on that era too much as it's painful to think of the squads we had then compared to now - plus I miss Cleveland Park That said, for all our failings, trials and tribulations, I still love my fix of live speedway - never take it so serious that you forget to enjoy it!
  10. Hi TC - I know who you mean! I have no issue at all with been taken to task on any post or comments, so long as it's not malicious or too personal. You are absolutely correct, if you dish it out you must be man enough to take it to!
  11. I was being sarcastic , something that seems to have bypassed certain parts of the north east There again, according to Terrace Grumbler Teesside has more than its fair share of village idiots, I wonder who he was referring to? I thought it was forum etiquette to attack the post not the poster, no problem though, I've got broad shoulders! Back to the speedway, there have been meetings at most tracks that have been uncompetitive due to ridiculously under strength teams. I can't recall a club been fined although I stand to be corrected on that point Naturally I don't see fining Redcar as a solution purely from a selfish point of view, I doubt many speedway clubs can afford to be hit with a financial penalty, especially when they are struggling to make ends meet week on week, season on season
  12. Care to put some names to these Teesside village idiots you want to hear from
  13. That's the spirit , fine the club who have no influence on why the 2 riders will be missing Fine the club who are already under financial pressure each week and are doing their best to keep speedway going in the area Everybody knows it's an unacceptable situation but you seem more intent on punishing Redcar speedways regardless on the possible consequences Maybe we should have said that the meeting in Denmark was rained off so we could get a facility...ring any bells?
  14. Any thoughts of travelling up for this fixture have been knocked in the head with the latest team news Both the Anderson brothers will not ride as their flight back from Denmark has been delayed, Bears can only use National league riders as replacements Also Busch is ill and won't ride , rider replacement will be used
  15. We have plenty of riders not riding to their ability! At times it was embarrassing to watch. I reckon most of the crowd knew that after Kus had made the gate in his first ride he wasn't going to do anything for the rest of the night. I've never seen a rider look down at his bike so much during a race, mind you, he has plenty of time given he's normally in 4th place
  16. To be fair to JBA his bike picked up and lifted , the consequence being that he veered right, to say that he turned right is misleading. IMO it was a racing incident and purely accidental. Certain riders, by inference, obviously means JBA, and I don't think it should be levelled at him on this occasion
  17. Just gets better and better. Ain't too impressed with Duffill's explanation either ( taken from Club website) “Matej Kus is required to race tonight in his home country, the Czech Republic. He has to be there or his federation will suspend his license, making it impossible for him to race here today. The BSPA will not recognise this meeting like they do in Denmark, Poland or Sweden, where we WOULD have got a facility. So he is penalised due to his nationality. We are forced to use a National League guest even though Matej is riding in his home country. I completely fail to understand how this is in the best interests of the sport and it is the paying public that suffer in the end. What a ridiculous situation!” It may well be a ridiculous situation but surely the management knew this before the season started! Right about one thing though - it's the paying public that suffer...yet again Damage limitation yet again
  18. "a bit of fire and ,handbags and playing the crowd is just what speedway needs" I agree, what it doesn't need is the behaviour he displayed after the meeting had finished... we can all swear and use bad language if we need to but it doesn't win you the argument
  19. Garrity was extremely lucky IMO not to get a warning from the referee after his childish antics in heat 6. Barker's outmaneuvered him on the 3rd/4th bend and for Garrity to aim a punch at another rider (after the race , on back straight) was disgraceful. He was still full of it in heat 9 and his pantomime villain performance after his crash was more embarrassing than entertaining. His behaviour after the meeting had ended was pretty disgraceful too. In complete contrast I thought Ricky Wells was outstanding and his dignified demeanour after the meeting was something a few other riders could learn from
  20. Considering they bring so many supporters down to our place they must be really good at hiding and keeping very very quiet. I have yet to see gangs of marauding Jawdees invade our stadium
  21. My original comment still stands, this topic is supposed to be about Redcar being given the 4's Why is there a need to mention spectator behaviour, at another track, even if it was so called Redcar fans? Do you think it is of sufficient concern to question the credibility of Redcar holding this competition? That said, there has been enough negativity already....I hope we do open the back straight banking for all those who either question the decision or are just 100% against it.........it can be Redcar's version of the Wailing Wall
  22. Jeez......a topic on Redcar getting the 4's degenerated into a post suggesting child abuse.....must be an all-time low
  23. At least we won't need any more catering facilities - everybody can have a bit of that massive chip on your shoulder
