Was always going to be a tough meeting for the Raiders but R/R for George makes the tail even weaker. Have to credit Rye & some others for giving lads a chance of league racing but the gulf between the top teams & the rest could end up really damaging this league.

You seem to be confusing a comment about Kasper Lykke with Peter Karger -
Looks a decent lineup.

Has Branford ever averaged more than Lykke at PL?

I agree mate. I can't lie, I was one of those really worried but having now seen what is happening I think it could be really exciting times for the club.

That was a very good turnout for P & P. Track looked good, very smooth. Race suits look good. Stadium improvements coming along. Looks like exciting times.

If he's not he should be. He's done more to ease anyone's fears than any official source. 😉

Lack of communication once again. Seemed to have been more effort for the recent flat track announcement than any meaningful statements about the big speedway decisions taking place. Maybe it's just a lack of understanding of managing a team/spectator league sport. Hopefully it will all work out.

Haha

I understand not keeping a rider who doesn't want to be there but this seems to be becoming a regular occurrence this winter which is a shame as the team spirit at the start of last year was very good.
-
It's a pity neither Danyon or Alfie will be Raiders this year. I was looking forward to seeing how they developed.
-
That didn't last too long. Named the first reserve a week later

An absolute bargain on that average. Without u21 rounds to travel to I'd expect him to improve his average to 8/8.25

Found this site with some American results. http://www.speedwaybikes.com/news/2015-USA-SpeedwayChampionships.htm The kid does ok in that company & has potential but Aaron Fox's results are better & he didn't set the league alight. It's difficult to plan long term when someone requires a work permit as its a big ask to achieve a 7 point average in the PL. I'd also assume that Gino will start doing the Nationals now & so makes top 4 finishes even more competitive. The other concern is why make long term plans but don't include a rider like NBJ on a bargain average, a world class performer at u21 level, who doesn't require a visa & not use him.

My concern as well Shads.

Thanks. I had it feeling it wouldn't leave much didn't imagine it would be that high.

I have no idea about the averages of the NL riders but I wouldn't mind seeing a team of Ben, Kyle, Marc Owen, Luke Priest, Danyon, George & one other if it could fit.

Robbo did.

Really not sure about this team. A few gaters and a couple who struggle to make a gate. Going to be hard getting a track prepared to please them all. Any news on who will be preparing the track? Robbo was great for us before but I can't remember (might just be my age) him looking too great on our track in recent times. Leigh has had some great meetings at Rye but also some really average ones. We've got strength at number 6 which is great for the reserves race but will it make up for what could be a lack of top end support for Ed? I've also got some concerns about the fitness of the team. Robbo, Kasper & Heeps have all had injury problems in the recent past. The loss of both NBJ & Lambert is a worry. Whilst I can understand the Lambert one, to allow our own asset, who many people in speedway believe has the ability to be a top rider, join our rivals on a bargain average could be the new owners Doyle/Boxall moment. Hopefully they'll explain the reasons better than Len did.
-
NBJ's score in the u21 SWC final seems to suggest he's over his injuries so on an average of around 7 he should be a must as a third heat leader.
-
I'd take both MPT & Kasper as second strings. Kasper showed signs of improving his average before injury & is entertaining.
-
Blinded by the lads unfulfilled potential. Unfortunately he never has the kind of set up needed to be a top PL rider.

The decision to revert back to the original 1-7 wasn't a good one, but I think shows the loyalty he has to his riders. He had only signed Doyley as a short term replacement and I think everyone was aware of that at the time. Problem was Doyley was always going to a better points scorer & more reliable than Boxall. Personally I'd have kept Doyley but to keep Doyley and bring back Boxall would have meant sacking other riders. I have to admit that IMO, and as someone who gets on with him, the way that Len dealt with the crowd over the decision was pretty appalling.
