World Cup Or Gp At Twickenham?
Eglese 19 replied to DonRacer's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Been said before but with Cardiff I doubt we'll ever see another event of a similar scale in the UK at the same time. The world cup is a bit different but still it could detract away from the showpiece. -
Gorzow Gp 29 August

Well that was a great GP, right until the end! Really enjoyed it, the dedications to Ward throughout were great too. Hope Nicki is ok, the crash looked awful and wasn't surprised he withdrew. Not exactly a bold statement but think Zmarzlik will be a great. Holder earned a lot of respect from me, the emotions clearly getting to him, he did Darcy proud. -

Zmarzlik on top league form, history on this track and a lot of the GP boys seem to be stuttering a little so worth a punt. -

I see the contact but Kildemand just hates being on that bike, every opportunity to get off -

Did Tatum seriously suggest that Pedersen could have been at fault for that? -

If there was a second UK/GB GP, which I doubt there ever will be while we have Cardiff (not a moan), I would have thought that 10 to 15 thousand would be a max crowd so as not to detract from Cardiff, making sure there's no doubt as to the showpiece event. -

Really enjoyed the GP, considering the weather top marks to all involved in putting on that show. Tai keeps making finals, think he'll probably wake up happy today, even if he did seem less than chuffed when picking his final gate. Great effort from Nicki, he's such a great rider, his antics may or may not be right sometimes but nobody can deny what a top rider he is. -

It's certainly not flawless no, there's a lot I personally would change if I could. -

Cheers, I guess mutual consent is likely in this case after the two we've seen. Wish they'd got the track right but oh well -

Never really thought about them increasing but I do think we see a few, much like what Nicki said. However, with the rules as they are if your race is ruined by contact maybe it just makes sense to lay it down? I guess it relates to the argument in football about when should a player go down under contact. I'm not saying what's right or wrong, for me Doyle was right to be excluded and he looked as if he had no complaints but then I've never ridden a speedway bike so I don't know what it's like. -

Was going to say is that in place of Tampere. Whilst I'm disappointed I won't have a home GP next year I'm not exactly going to miss the Finnish GP. Out of interest, as they usually 'agree' 3 year deals etc, how do they break them? -

Assumably they have to keep moving it around with the hosts now automatically qualifying, have to be back in the UK sooner or later -

Not the most thrilling meeting last night and then it hammered down so no finals, not great. At least it's only a week until the next one -

To be honest I can't remember how the racing went last year but seem to think it was ok, think two years ago Greg won and was the only one on the Golden Tyre or something and he kind of gated a lot I guess. Nicki has 3 second places here also and Gollob 3 thirds so there's something there I would say. -

5 minute preview for this weekend's GP: https://youtu.be/moYoaLJXV2Y Greg likes it here it seems, if he wins again he could be right back in it. That said, if Tai keeps making finals he's going to be feeling comfy -
Hoping for green light starts again! Seriously though I didn't think he was any worse than he has been this year in general
