SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
LisaColette replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Aussie for Plymouth (Keheller/Tate Z) and Gino for Brum? -
Haha. Well the main thing is that team would fit in a 42 point limit as long as you apply the British reductions.
-
Thought Jack Thomas was 4.78 with reduction?
-
If you do the British reductions I make not much over 42. So Jack for Drew fits. Jack is around 0.4 lower.
-
Also Poole would have been bottom in list of priorities as well with Rew imo.
-
He's not replacing DK though. It is a new team with less points available. He is a third heat leader, so aiming for 7/8 points a meeting is the right way to look at it. Should never compare to previous year. Just compare to other teams in the Champ.
-
More storylines than EastEnders! Hope things get sorted soon. You lot have way more patience than I do!
-
Interesting as I assumed plan A was pretty much last year's team but with Jack Thomas instead of Drew.
-
Maybe Buster and Holder are more civil to each other now. It was quite a while ago now.
-
Thanks, probably!
-
Isn't everyone with the points limit going down! Although you could argue that Brum are stronger.
-
Just a few things to add: 1. I thought Adam did well at Poole last season when down with Scunny and also didn't he spanner for DK in 2021 or am I thinking of someone else? If so he would have seen the track a lot during that time. Also at Poole with BSN quite a few times last season too. 2. You make it sound like Nathan got zero every home meeting. I swear he 5-1'd the Glasgow pair at Poole and one of them was Paul Starke guesting I believe! I think there were quite a few other occasions he got points too! 3. Don't you remember Jack Thomas riding for Brum at Poole in 2021? It was when the meeting was stopped for an hour cos of the crater on track. Think he got 9 at reserve, he was one of the few attacking the track and not just coasting round!
-
You definitely have a thing about riders ages!
-
Yawn! Wake me up when the final rider is announced! Why are Brum, Plymouth and Poole taking so long?! Are they arguing over the same rider?
-
Most promoters go for riders who are going to up their averages. Ben's will go up more than Batch's would. Ben will also have more match fitness than Batch as Batch doesn't even have a Champ place!
-
And before Oxford came back, saw a couple regularly attend Poole in 2021.
-
The ignore button no good if people quote him though!
-
Pretty sure no one said that! They may have said there isn't 'much' difference. With the points limit lower and some slightly bigger names coming back in the Prem, next season will have a bigger difference than the one just gone.
-
Some promoters don't start announcing til the whole team is signed as if plans don't work out, you may need to change other riders. Or maybe their signings are connected to Ipswich so have to wait for them?
-
You are wrong! While I agree 'die hard fans' (no, not the film) will buy ST no matter the team. Some fans who still go every week will want a good team to part with their money. With the cost of living crisis even some die hards will wait for team announcements before deciding.
-
They were a Poole sponsor? Huh, didn't even notice!
-
You definitely have to have patience of a saint!
-
Trouble is it was in a reply to two posts really. I started it off by saying if Poole went Prem in 2024 he'd be first on teamsheet and Hodgy said about the Champ in 2024. Skidder was just saying that he would only ride for Poole if we were in the Prem not Champ, not that he wouldn't ride for anyone else in the Prem. That is how I understood it anyway. Obviously I could be wrong!
-
Not sure how that works when he has ridden for KL.
-
Might have to change it to 'grandad's army' though
